Hot on the heels of ABC’s announcement of Castle being renewed for a 3rd season is the April 1 news that a major cast member is leaving the show. Today Nathan Fillion announced that he’ll be stepping down as the lead of the highly successful show stating that he’s never been the lead of a show that’s lasted more than two seasons before and… hear what Nathan has to say in this YouTube video.

Aw c’mon! I love Nathan Fillion like my favorite dessert so of course I would be devastated if he left the show. Actually if he left the show there would be no Castle. Don’t get me wrong, love Stana Katic, but Nathan, well, he’s so charming, handsome and yes, silly!

Congratulations to the amazing cast for season 3, and to the amazing crew. The crew is equally as important to the show as the cast. All the little things we see and don’t see are because of them. So Thank You crew, I can’t wait to see whats in store for us in Season 3 of Castle. Now that has a nice sound “Season 3 of Castle”

@sarah_darling – correction, he wasn’t the lead in that show. Ryan Reynolds, Traylor Howard, and Richard Ruccolo were… he was just the boyfriend/husband to Traylor and not on as much as them three.
