Castle Marathon on TNT

September sure is an exciting month for Castle!

The first episode of season 4 airs on ABC (Sep 19), the Season 3 DVDs are released (Sep 20), Richard Castle’s latest book Heat Rises is released (Sep 20), Castle’s first Graphic Novel Deadly Storm is released (Sep 28) AND there’s going to be an awesome 7 hour Castle marathon!

TNT recently acquired re-broadcast rights for Castle and they’ve just announced that on September 15th they’ll be running a marathon from 3pm to 10pm (ET).

The great mix of episodes seems the perfect way to introduce new viewers to the show before Season 4 begins on ABC.  The episodes from all three seasons will include: A Chill Runs Through Her Veins, A Rose Forever After, A Deadly Game, A Deadly Affair, Punked, Nikki Heat, Knockdown and Knockout.

No Sucker Punch? =\ That sucks.

I guess there’s only so much you can fit into 7 hours, I think they choose a good mix of eps that give people a good idea of the whole storyline and the feel of the show including funny/serious eps :)

I’m all for a “good mix of episodes” to lure in new viewers but how could they not include “Sucker Punch” if you’re doing this as a build-up/primer to the season premiere? You show, “The Empire Strikes Back,” and “Return of the Jedi,” but not the original “Star Wars?” I don’t think so.

Sounds like some network programmer who hasn’t actually seen the show choose this list. Maybe they meant to pick “Sucker Punch” and choose “Punked” in error? All the others seem to have a strong connection to Beckett’s mother’s murder and or the “Caskett” relationship. Not so much with “Punked.” It was more of a “stand alone,” “monster of week” (if I can barrow from “The X-Files”) episodes imo. Maybe it’s there because of the Joss element? Wasn’t “Punked” the episode where he’s introduced or seen for the first time in the final scene? I’ll bet that’s it. Either way, “Sucker Punch” should still be included. And I think it’s actually eight hours or eight episodes they are showing from 3PM to 11PM.

I think it makes sense. The thing is, if they only aired the episodes that explain the entire Beckett’s Mother plotline anyone new would think it’s a completely different show to what it is. Episodes like Punked show that this isn’t your average cop drama and there’s a lot of great humour in the show. You had me confused with “Joss” for a minute there, I gather you mean Josh :) You’re right, I think this was the episode he was introduced, but like I said, I suspect the reason for including the episode was to highlight the quality humour element of the show.

            Thinking of Joss Stone? LOL.
Yeah, I see your point but “Nikki Heat” demonstrates the humor/”not your average cop show” angle. Anyway, thanks for letting us all know. As always you do a great job with this site. I know it’s not easy. :D

Sweet!!! My DVR is now set to tape the whole marathon! This is one of my favorite shows (along with Leverage and Burn Notice). I can’t wait until it returns but this marathon will help ease the craving lol!
