The penultimate episode of Castle’s Season 1 has brought about encouraging results in the ratings.
Various sources began predicting the end of the series after last week’s continuing downward trend however after a significant increase this week it’s looking more likely the series will be renewed for a second season.
It’s interesting to note that the three weeks that aired the half hour comedy “Surviving Suburbia” between Dancing With the Stars and Castle were the same weeks the ratings dropped.

While this news is encouraging fans are being warned not to be complacent because a renewal of the series is far from guaranteed.

Dear ABC, Please keep Castle on the schedule for the fall. It’s one of the best shows out there.
The only reason I don’t watch “Castle” on television is that I have to leave for work before it’s half over! But I make sure to catch every episode on the website every week, without fail. It helps me get through those long nights at work. Nathan Fillion is one of the best actors on both the large and small screen, so renewing this show is the only thing that makes sense. Keep “Castle” forever!

Castle has proven to be an incredible show. Nathan Fillion has been a favorite of mine for years; watching his performance on Castle has boosted him to my all-time favorite! Stana Katic is incredible as well. The two of them together have great chemistry, they play off one another very well, they are the perfect pair! Good looking, witty, charming, intelligent, they remind me of classic pairs we haven’t seen in years! Please ABC, keep bringing them in, they make my night, my day, I look forward to Monday nights all week long now! Very rarely does a show catch my attention in such a way that I dedicate myself to it; I am very dedicated to Castle!
My wife and also hope this gets a second season. This and LOST are the only shows I watch regularly. Nathon Fillain is fantastic and the other characters are getting better as the season goes on.
Thanks for giving an original series with an actual storyline a chance to be seen. As tired and worn out “reality” TV has taken over network TV, I’ve either tuned out completely, or turned to the few quality cable shows out there. Castle is finally a show worth tuning into on network TV. So, give the American public a little credit, and keep this show on the air. Nathan Fillion is a real find, and he makes the show. Katic is a good pairing too.
Please do us all a favor and keep this well written show on the air. It is such a charming dramedy with lots of intrigue, wit and sex appeal. As a 40-something, do not put the ax to this show because of some lame “RATING’S” needs of the ABC brass who probably do not even watch their own programming. Nathan Fillion has another breakaway performance just as he did in the magnificent film – “WAITRESS!!!!”
I was hooked the first night the show aired. The chemistry between Castle and Beckett, the lack of gore (thank you for that), the lack of bad language, the positive relationship between Castle and his daughter – these are the things that have made me a fan. This show reminds me of some of my other favorite detective shows – Remington Steele, Scarecrow and Mrs. King. I have very little time to watch TV, so what I choose to watch better be worth my time. Castle is worth my time. Please do not cancel this show. It’s one of the best out there. I am a 43-year old mother of 5 girls, who someday when they’re old enough, will be privileged to watch this with me on DVD.

I agree with all the other people that have posted on this board. I have watched every show from the beginning of this wonderful series. I love the show and it’s writing, the tension between Castle and Beckett is amazing. Please renew this show!!! Don’t give us any more reality garbage. There are very few shows that can make you care about the characters in it. From Beckett, to Castle to his daughter to his mother to the other guys on the squad, it is smart, witty, intelligent writing. LEAVE IT ON!!!

Well, they’ve just run a full season – a short season of just 10 episodes granted, but an entire season! I think it’s good for a second season but we’ll find out on the 19th
Please do not cancel this show!! If it gets cancelled I’m done with ABC and I’m sure all the others that like this show will eventually stray that way too!! The season finale was a huge cliffhanger and I hope we viewers aren’t going to be left with just that!!! Who gives a crap about the ratings? Back in the day there were alot of shows that started off slow like Silk Stalkings…and look how that show took off!! Please give it a chance to prove itself….it will be a great show!! I am sick of ABC bragging up these premieres and getting people soaked into them then threatening to cancel them!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! IT BETTER BE BACK IN THE FALL!!

This is the only show on a network tv that my family watches.
This is the best cast, best directed, best produced, best written, best acted show of the season. The show has it ALL! The possibility of its being dropped is unthinkable, unless ABC is intent on throwing itself under the bus!
Castle is a HIT!! What’s not to love–there’s a whirlwind of fun, adventure, danger, drama, and humor in each new show. The chemistry of the actors, especially Fillian and Katic, is wonderful. I felt with the season finale a sense that all subplots were being wrapped up in a potential “neat package” as if cancellation were imminent—I SO HOPE THAT’S NOT THE CASE!!! I echo the sentiment that any new , creative, and mind-stimulating shows lose out to hum-drum “reality” shows. PLEASE don’t let this happen! We already lost “Pushing Daisies”–let’s not lose “Castle”!
Please keep Castle for the second season–it’s a fantastic show–and the cast is with superb acting!!

Great show ! Many story lines to build from. At least deserves another season this fall. This is the only show on this network that is a “must see” in my house !!!

Castle is the only program I watch “live” on TV (and religiously!) aside from Lost. It has a certain sparkle and charm, from elements that most other crime shows lack: wit, humor, compelling characters, and solid writing. Fantastic! Keep it up
This is the best show on TV PERIOD! The show greatly understates the beauty of Stana Katic. I love that the show does not emphasize gore or the sadness of a homocide but instead concentrates on the investigation and the relationship between Castle and Beckett and Castle’s mother and daughter.
Please renew this great show.
