Earlier this week we announced that ABC had decided that Castle could stand on its own and gave up the Sunday night timeslot following Desperate Housewives and moved the first part of the two part “Castle Event” starring Dana Delany back to Castle’s usual timeslot of Monday nights.

Today we were advised that ABC has now decided that it will air Castle on Sunday night following Desperate Housewives but instead of being the premiere of the first episode of the two parter they will air an encore of this episode on Sunday 28th giving viewers who miss the first airing a chance to catch up before the second part airs the following night and hopefully still bring in some new viewers from Desperate Housewives.

An encore of part one of the 2-part Castle will air following a repeat of Desperate. Part 2 of this 2-part episode airs the following night on its normal night and will be all-new. Brothers & Sisters repeat for this night is no longer scheduled. — sitcomsonline.com

Schedule:

Monday 22nd March – Tick, Tick, Tick.- part 1

Sunday 28th March – Tick, Tick, Tick. (repeat)

Monday 29th March – Bang – part 2

Today ABC announced a change in the schedule. Having faith that Castle can stand alone the two part episodes will now both air in Castle’s usual Monday night time slot with part one titled “Tick, Tick, Tick” airing March 22nd and part two, “Boom”, the following week on March 29th. Both episodes will follow new episodes of Dancing with the Stars.

In addition to new episodes of #Castle on Monday nights ABC has resumed airing repeats from both season 1 and 2 on Saturday nights. For details on the full Castle schedule visit our Episode Schedule page.

Date: Tuesday Feb 9, 2010 Time: 11pm EST

Jose Molina, writer of the Castle episodes “The Suicide Squeeze” and “Famous Last Words” has agreed to join us for a special chat on Tuesday February 9th. Jose’s new episode “The Suicide Squeeze” airs Monday 8th.

In addition to writing for and producing Castle, Jose’s past TV involvement includes series’ like Without a Trace and Law & Order SVU but he is perhaps best known for his work on Joss Whedon’s Firefly as story editor, writer of the episode Ariel and co-writer of the episode Trash.

The chat session will start at 11pm Eastern Time (8pm Pacific Time). Questions for Jose can be submitted in advance (see below).

Please note: Special chat rules will be in place during this chat session. Jose Molina has been known to drop by our chat room regularly and while our regulars are used to chatting with him informally please remember that this is a formal chat session and everyone must follow the rules below.

Special Guest Chat Rules

Please register before entering the chat room. If you are not already registered you may do so right away via www.castletv.net/chat
NOTE ATT Users, there’s an issue with registration emails being blocked, please enter the chat as a guest this week if you have tried to register and did not receive an email.

Always remember to be polite to our guest and to others in the room.

Important messages from our moderators may be posted throughout the chat session, these messages will be posted in red. If you see a red message, please take the time to read it as it may contain important information. For this reason, please do not change your text colour during the chat session, all users must use the default black.

Questions can be submitted in advance so feel free to start thinking now. You can submit questions via our forums at http://castletv.net/forums/events/special-chat-with-castle-writer-jose-molina-9th-feb or in the Question Room in chat half an hour before the chat session begins.

There will be three rooms running during the special guest chat session. The Lobby is the default chat room where you can chat with others about anything before the scheduled chat session begins. The Question Room will be for people to submit their questions and the Guest Room will be where the actual chat with the guest takes place (this is different to our usual chat room set up).

The chat room will be open for 30 minutes before the chat begins to enable people to start submitting questions in the Question Room. Our moderators will track all the submitted questions to be asked once our guest arrives.

Once our guest arrives everyone will be invited to move over to the Guest Room.

A moderator will post the questions and our guest will be invited to answer them. If time allows and our guest is willing we will open the floor for direct questions and general chat later in the session.

Think of this chat session as a Q&A with a guest on stage (like at a convention). It is important that when someone is speaking – either to ask a question or our guest answering one do NOT interrupt. You may only post during the actual Q&A session if our guest or a moderator asks you a direct question.

If our guest chooses to remain for an open chat session after the Q&A, please do not ask inappropriate questions, do not ask for favours (eg, can I have an autograph, can I visit the set, etc) and at all times remain respectful. Anyone not abiding by these rules may be removed and banned from future guest chats.

DO NOT send private messages to our guest. Anyone caught doing so will be removed for the remainder of the chat session and may be banned from future guest chats. Please respect our guest’s privacy.

During the chat session please avoid intentionally using smileys as they can be disruptive.

If the guest agrees a transcript of the chat session may be posted to our site after the chat is over.

While every effort will be made to ensure the chat goes ahead we ask you to understand that there may be circumstances under which the chat will be rescheduled.

TIME ZONES:
The chat session will be open starting from the following times (half an hour before our guest arrives).
USA: Eastern Time 10:30pm, Pacific Time 7:30pm. UK: TBC (Wed). Australia: Eastern DLS: TBC (Wed)

Nathan Fillion is a finalist for the Celebrity category. The official Richard Castle account WriteRCastle and the Twitter account CastleTV run in conjunction with this website have both made it as finalists in the Entertainment category.

The Shorty Awards are a fun way to help raise awareness of Castle in the general public and the awards have already been mentioned on several well known media sites like USA Today, Wired and CNBC.

The finalists have been selected and if you didn’t participate in the nomination process and you have a Twitter account you still have the opportunity to make your vote count. To be valid your vote must include a reason so think about why you enjoy or appreciate each Twitter account. If you have already nominated/voted and you vote again, your new vote will overwrite the previous one.

Voting closes Friday, February 5 at noon EST.

The Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences will use a combination of criteria to select the winners, including the number of votes, the reasons given in nominations, answers to the Shorty Interview and the content of the finalists’ tweets. The award ceremony will be held on March 3 in NYC.

Since Season 2 began viewer numbers have crept up with an increase almost every week, continuing against the trend as other shows continued to lose viewers. On October 20, ABC ordered a further nine episodes to add to the initial season order of 13.

Last week the much anticipated episode “Sucker Punch” in which the murder of Beckett’s mother was revisited, obtained a season high in the 18-49 demographic reaching 2.8 and 9.44 million total viewers. Castle also took the number one spot for the hour and gained more viewers than CSI: Miami in the important “women 18-34″ demographic.

This week the ratings rise continued with the episode “The Third Man” reaching a new series high of 3.1 in 18-49 with 10.5 million viewers.

No news yet on Season 3 but the signs continue to look positive.

If you’re a fan of the TV series “Castle” this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss. Executive Producer/Director Rob Bowman has generously donated not one but two set visits to benefit The Reational Center in Los Angeles..

The set visit will last approximately 3 hours and will take place at some point between March 30 and April 9, 2010 during an episode that Rob is directing. The exact date will be worked out between the winners and the production company. While it is likely that the winners and guests will encounter the stars filming that day, it is not possible to guarantee that winners will meet them. Transportation to Los Angeles is not provided (however bidding is welcome from those outside the area.). All winners and guests must be over 18 years of age and be U.S. citizens.

The Relational Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity whose mission is to increase diversity in the helping professions and to expand access to culturally competent counseling, coaching and consulting for individuals, families, organizations and communities.

IBG is acting as “host” for these auctions. In 2008, IBG established an official non-profit campaign focusing on utilizing the power of philanthropy through the arts to benefit a wide range of charities worldwide. IBG acts as a “fundraiser facilitator” for underfunded and start-up charities that would otherwise struggle with the logistics and costs associated with event fundraising.
