The Winners!
This was very hard. So many great pumpkins and such great imagination from everyone.
But here are my picks.
First Place – debo81 – I loved the simplicity and elegance of skyline, along with the beautiful iconic moments framed with Always.
Second Place – Brittany – Great iconic vignettes. Ambitious lettering on the crime scene tape.
Third Place – Tereza – I loved the faces on the coffee cups.
To everyone else, they were all amazing.

I found the promo for 5.5 very unsettling. At one point the victim’s face is flashed as a negative with the symbol on her forehead sort of glowing. And then there’s all the interaction between characters. Whew. Scary. Creating the effect of a 2-sided pumpkin required “I’d like my lawyer now” in reverse so that it would be readable in a mirror shot. The whole thing took about 2.5 hours. If I’d had any brains I would have done the face in the mirror part and carved the text for the front. We like to do things the hard way around here
Amanda
2 carvings inspired by Castle’s Blue Butterfly episode. “Tell me you love me, Joe” … “Always”
Ashley
There’s nothing more original than the iconic “CASTLE” logo. I was really inspired by this show from the very fisrt premiere!!!! Took me forever to get the letter “a” just right, but it was worth it
Bailey
My carving is the silhouette of Nikki Heat from the cover of ‘HEAT WAVE’. Beside the silhouette is the word ‘HEAT’ with the pen on the ‘A’, similar to the CASTLE logo.
Beth S
Detective Kate Beckett, NYPD, and Richard Castle, just NY, kicking it with the THEIR murder board.

The silhouette image of the “police” and “writer” vests we see in the show is something so iconic and so recognizably Castle, and I wanted to try to duplicate that with two little pumpkins. I felt that kind of imagery was a perfect way to play with shapes, lighting and shadow. I also wanted to bring them together with a bigger pumpkin, and I’ve always liked the playfulness of the Castle logo accented with the pen. However, I wanted to continue to highlight that police/writer dynamic, so I also made the “C” into a pair of handcuffs.
Brianna
I am a really big Castle fan and wanted to enter in this just for fun. I did my pumpkin based on one of my favorite scenes from Castle. The freezer scene from 3×17, Countdown. Hope you guys like it.
Brittany
The first picture (from left to right) is hands, a crime scene and coffee. The second picture (from left to right) is Castle and Beckett silhouetted, Frozen Heat and Beckett’s badge. Due to internet failure here I hope there aren’t multiple entries submitted from me. Cheers and Happy Halloween!
Courtney
Whether it’s consumed at a crime scene, brewed in the precinct, or shared together after a long and stormy night, coffee has become the ever-constant caffeinated prop that links Castle and Beckett together. This pumpkin was inspired by Rick and Kate’s joy for java, and my undying love for Caskett.
Debo81
The iconic Castle word “Always” across the top, with 3 Casketty pictures along the bottom…
1. Castle and Beckett walking into the moonlight from close Encounters of The Murderous Kind
2. Hands being held
3. Castle and Beckett having a heart to heart while in quarantine in “Set Up”
As a side note in the first image, police and writer ARE written into their “vests” but the candles are not enough light for the camera to pick them up well. Picture 3 is a close up that sorta shows that.
This pumpkin took 3 hours to carve.

I’m a castle fan from Hong Kong, this is my first pumpkin carving attempt. Inspired by the example given above, I decided to put together elements from Heat Rises’ book cover and castle’s dvd cover. Hope the judges will love it:)
Hannah
I love the book Heat Rises, so I decided to make my pumpkin Castle themed this year! I worked very hard, and this took about three hours. I am a hardcore Castle fan, so I hope you enjoy your entry!
Heather
“The Blue Butterfly” is one of my favourite episodes of the series thus far so there was no doubt that I’d incorporate it into my pumpkin somehow. Vera’s line “He’s the cream in my coffee” carries so much significance, not only for Joe and Vera in this episode, but also for the relationship between Rick and Kate. It’s such a simple, silly little phrase but it’s incredibly poignant and it gives me chills every time I hear it.
Jennifer
My very first attempt at carving a pumpkin this way! Used the Castle Season 5 promo picture of Castle and Beckett as the inspiration.

As Halloween isn’t really celebrated in Holland, this year was my first year ever that I tried to carve a pumpkin. And the very first one was about my favorite TV series, Castle. A show that changed my life. I met a lot of friends my fiancé, who lives in America, through the Castle fandom. I carved my pumpkin with the Caskett logo I made up. As we all know the Castle logo has an A that is a pencil too. I used that A too. But Beckett doesn’t have an own logo. So I thought what would fit her. And that was a police gun. I turned the K of Beckett into a police gun. And as Castle and Beckett are together now, they form Caskett. I combined both, the Castle logo and the made up logo of Beckett into a new one: The Caskett logo. The first picture shows I’m a real die hard Castle fan. I have all the books and DVD’s and hopefully soon the coffee too. The other pictures is with my dog, Chelsea, who watches all the episodes with me.

So, my residence hall had pumpkins available for carving today and rather than do the standard jack o’lantern face, I decided to dedicate my pumpkin to my favorite TV show ever, Castle. I wanted to do something simple, so I stuck with the standard Castle logo. I also wanted to incorporate something that would mean something to my fellow Castle fans, so I decided to etch the word “always” (my favorite saying of the duo) into the pumpkin as well. I am very proud of my pumpkin carving and I hope you enjoy it as well!

1. Le pumpkin says: “Next time let’s do it without the…” TIGER. The tiger has spooky glowing eyes. From one of our favorite episodes, “Cuffed!”
2. A pair of heels serves as a symbol for Beckett, accompanied by one of our very favorite Castle quotes: “Do you know why I chose you as my [inspiration for] Nikki Heat?’ ‘No, why?’ ‘Because you’re tall.’”
Liane
Incriminating fingerprint…inspired by promo clips for 5×05

Thought I’d give it ago of making a Castle pumpkin this year, and this is the first time I used the technique of shadowing carving. It took a while to do but was worth for the end result and for the show. Keep up the great work cast and crew of castle. Love from the UK.
Nikki
I have always loved carving pumpkins. I like getting creative. One of the most memorable scenes from Castle is in 3×09 when Castle and Beckett were walking away both wearing their vest. To me it just kind of sums the whole show up.
It took me about four hours to do. I also learned a new way to carve pumpkins…..use thread.
PJ
My favorite Castleism is ‘BAM said the lady’, so I wanted my pumpkin to be centered around that theme…inside the B and the A is the bit when Castle tried to listen to Beckett’s phone and she grabs his ear and pulls him away (Speakerphone!). In the M, I added a ‘Feed the Birds” and for good measure I put the iconic pen with blood ink spatter across it. I hope you enjoy!
Rex
Just a simple pumpkin I carved of Castle and Beckett.
Sara L M
Beckett’s Elephants.
Sarah
Well, this would be my castle pumpkin, the darn thing took me two and a half hours to carve it was so thick! I used an exacto knife along with a pumpkin carving kit from wal mart. It was inspired by the season one cover of Castle and Beckett, and hopefully it’s a trophy winner
Tereza

This is my very first try at carving a pumpkin… Oh wait, its not a pumpkin, its a melon. Hehee. I hope it turned out well. In Estonia, we don’t have such thing as Halloween is, so it is all very new to me. I hope you like it and … Happy Halloween! Mwhahaaaa!

Oh my gosh these are amazing!!!
OMG, I really can’t believe it. And after seeing all these amazing pumpkins, I’m still in shock. This is a seriously talented fandom!
Thank you so much!
Wow! Everyone did such a great job with these! The “Bam said the lady” one is very creative, and the fingerprint looks so precise- they must have taken forever. I also loved the very first Blue Butterfly one, but I have to agree with AWM on the winners! Great work everybody!
OMG WOW the detail in these. Like wow. Great job everyone!!
