Castle Renewed!

It’s been unofficially announced that Castle has been renewed.

“ABC has picked up drama “Happy Town” and “Cougar Town” to series. Additionally, midseason drama “Castle,” also from ABC Studios, was renewed for a second season.   ABC wouldn’t confirm any pickups until it unveils its fall schedule on Tuesday. — www.thrfeed.com

While only a month ago, this would’ve surprised us, given the last few weeks we are not surprised to hear that Castle has been renewed.

We are still in shock over Dollhouse, that Castle has us feeling,  Yeah, so, who didn’t see that coming? re not surprised, and compared to Dollhouse, Castle’s renewal seemed certain at this point! — www.tvbythenumbers.com

Positive Finale Ratings

The ratings figures are in for last nights Castle finale and the news is positive.   Overall viewers for the episode increased from last week to 10.55 million however there was a slight drop in the all important 18-49 rating from last week’s 2.8 to 2.5 maintaining a share of 7 meaning that Castle’s finale held on to some of the impressive growth established last week after returning to a time slot directly following Dancing With The Stars. …how much influence you have on scripts. Are there particular scenes or dialogue you can take credit for?
That’s an excellent question. I have been very pleased. This is the most I’ve been allowed to play. I pitch jokes constantly. I don’t come up with solid gold all the time, but if it’s funny, we’ll put it in. My system is, if it’s in the middle of a scene, I’ll pitch it to the writer beforehand. Every episode, we have the writer for that episode on set. If it’s at the very end of a scene, I’ll do the scene as written, give it two seconds so they have the opportunity to cut away when the scene is over, and then throw the joke in at the end.
