Castle pilot episode “Flowers For Your Grave” re-aired on ABC this week as part of the rerun of season 1. Repeats are being aired Saturday nights at 9/8c. The episode had just under 2.5 million viewers.
In Australia Castle has passed the mid way point for the season and is still rating well. In week 25 episode 5 “A Chill Goes Through Her Veins” saw an increase in viewers of 140,000 taking it back above the 1 million viewers mark and into number 1o position overall for Sunday. Castle reached #41 for the entire week, its highest position so far. Last Sunday’s episode “Always Buy Retail” dropped back to 942,000 viewers.
On Monday June 29 at 21:30 pm, Castle will premiere on Spanish channel AXN.
Details can be found on the AXN website here.
Castle episodes are now available on Australian iTunes, each episode being released shortly after airing. The latest episode “Hell Hath No Fury” is currently ranked #32 in TV. Each episode is $2.99 each and can be downloaded through iTunes via this link.
All season 1 Castle episodes are also available from the US iTunes store.
It looks like Castle will be returning to screens in the US sooner than expected. According to ABC’s schedule, repeats of Castle’s season one will air on Saturdays at 9/8c starting next week (June 20).
It should be noted that while the ABC’s schedule shows Castle returning next week other TV Guides have not yet listed the show.
Season 2 of Castle will air in the fall with filming likely to begin in July.
Update: Start date for Castle season 2 in the US has been confirmed as Monday September 21.
This week Castle moved back up to 12 position for Sunday though the number of viewers declined the drop was less significant than preceding show Bones and competing shows like CSI. Castle lost only 62,000 viewers compared to Bones with 250,000 and CSI with 143,000. More details will be available later in the week. Read the rest of this entry »
