Ok, I didn't see this mentioned anywhere else on the boards, so, sorry if it is but…

Did anyone else read "The Ryan Report" last week? Ryan was talking about being superstitious and he mentions some of the little superstitious quirks that everyone has. Talking about Beckett he says, "Or as secretive as a particular homicide detective who thinks nobody has noticed that she has to put all her little elephant statues in a straight line when she first sits down in the morning." Anybody else catch that?

So, I didn't think much of it when I read it, other than just a passing thought of, "Oh, I wonder if there really are little elephant statues on her desk?" But then, I was re-watching 2x05 and I totally saw them!! I was like, "AH! Hey! There they are! There's Beckett's little elephant statues that she rearranges every day!" So then I had to go back and see if I could see them in other episodes, and what do ya know? I saw them as far back as the premiere of season two and as far forward as last night's episode. That made me completely happy and now it's definitely become a game for me to look for them. I haven't checked season one yet but trust me, I will!

I fully admit that I looked at the title of this post and thought "What?"

Now I'm going to have to check out some episodes and take a look at those elephants LOL

Yeah! Just FYI there's a really good shot of them in 2x05 at 28:13. It's the part where Castle comes back to get his sunglasses and they're both mad at each other so she tells him to take his stupid russian nesting dolls. When he's picking them up you can see that they're right by her elephants. Smile

Too funny. I am the opposite. I'm a big fan of elephants (real or art) and noticed her little set many episodes ago. I can't recall how long they've been there but I'll be re-watching my season 1 DVD to find out. I was excited to see that Ryan mentioned them in his report.

I didn't realize she kept those! I thought after the case where Castle buys them was solved that she took them home or they just disappeared, since Beckett made some crack about how they ugly up her desk. I'll be watching for them in the future now.

i love it how even the little details of Castle makes me laugh. although the elephants are pretty kool.

i mus admit that after reading this i went and checked ep 2x05 to see them. now i will be looking for them in future episodes smile

I'm pretty sure we're all going to be looking for the elephants from now on! I vote that it be added to the drinking game rules: Take a drink whenever Beckett's elephants show up on screen. Laugh
