So to go back to the original post, Castle does use the cups.

 I found them in my Castle marathon. They are in Home Is Where The Heart Stops.

   

I love this little blue cup!  I am from Texas but my ex-husband was from NY and I always noticed the appearance of this little blue cup in the movies. When I was in NY, I could NOT find any vendor who used this cup. I couldn't believe it!  But then I bought a ceramic coffee cup with this design later.  Now I'm happy.Smile

When I used to drink coffee I'd always get my coffee in this type of cup. (Yes, I live in NYC.) I'd just have to step into the deli/bodaga and they'd know exactly how I took my coffee. I didn't need to say anything. However after 9/11 I got a serious case of the nerves and had to stop. Now if I drink coffee it's only decaf.

All coffee in NYC is not drunk from the to-go cups I linked, but the street vendors usually distribute them and the cops and the street vendors have an obvious alliance.  Popular NYC breakfast is a buttered roll and a coffee from a street vendor.  Next time you're there, get in line.

I've seen these blue cups in lots of other shows that take place in NY, particularly the Law & Order series and I think maybe even CSI: NY. Regardless of how many people actually drink from them, they seem to be common among TV cops in NY :)

Someone called me a blue cup ninja in the chat room last night.  I'm not a ninja.  I'm a scientist.  And, I'm not a ninja scientist either, lilmac. Tongue  This one was easier to spot than the last.  Season 2, episode 4, Fool Me Once, at minute 29:30 they opened the scene with a blue cup coffee! Smile (when the CIA guy goes into the coffee room and kicks the uniform out)  Of course I noticed!  Don't be silly. Laugh
