OfflineI noticed a framed photo of a Paris metro station in Castle apartment in a scene this week (The Mistress Always Spanks Twice) where Alexis comes up behind Castle using a laptop. It's probably been there all along, and I just did not notice it before. Does anyone know anything about the piece? Based on the spiral staircase thread, I am making the assumption that it is real work of art or at least a commerically available poster and not just a set-filler created at the studio from a staff-person's summer vacation pictures.

OfflineI think they pretty much redecorate the set a lot because I never recognized that picture either and they already had some shots on the stairs. Or maybe I just didn't really pay attention.
You can actually see the pic quite better right at the beginning, when Castle finds his daughter jummping in the hall. Martha comes down the stairs and the pic is hanging right beside her on the wall.
Well I think I have found it: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wi….._metro.jpg
On wikipedia it´s flipped, but if you would flipp it back it turns out to be just the pic Castle has. I think you can see that with the help of the lamp which is hanging in the front. On Castles pic is a red shade in the beginning which I guess comes from Martha, while she is discending the stairs.
On wikipedia they write that this pic shows the Metrostation Cité and if you enter that in google pic search you can find that: http://images.google.de/images…..amp;tab=wi … so I guess wiki is right, it is the Metrostation Cité.
I have not so far found out, why this pic might be famous for something… I have neither found a photographer nor a Museum it might be in…So I can´t really say anything about it.
It would be interesting to know why Castle actually chose this pic to hang in his apartment…

OfflineOkay… I canned through some eps and I found one ep, where you can see the pic better.
2x04 Fool me Once: Castle doesn't like Alexis new Voilin teacher and wants to sneak up the stairs when they come down. In that scene we see the pic quite often. So I really didn´t pay attention. It was hanging there already…
But I still ask myself why he chose this one…

OfflineThanks. I figured it was Cité because it is an unusual station design for Paris with the mezzanine over the end of the station. It's what the DC metro might look like if it was built 75 years earlier. I realized recently that I have a high school friend who has done production design on some TV shows, so I will ask her how art is chosen for standing sets. I figure that either the set designer liked the photo or is a closet subway buff.
