Has anyone else noticed that when they show the precinct entrance it is the 9th Precinct.  In his book, Castle's dedication is to his friends in the 12th!  Maybe he likes people over there better.

I'm not entirely sure on that either…but I know the elevators are the 12th as well.

That still doesn' explain why they clearly show it as the 9th in the exterior shots…

This is correct for there not being a 12th precinct in NY but for them using the exterior shots of the 9th precicnt, my only guess is that the producers liked the way the building looked compared to the other precincts

I think it's just the footage they purchased, of a real precinct in NY. Whereas the elevators were designed by the show's set design people, so it's really the 12th :)

It's printed in big letters on the outer doors of the elevators–the metal casing on the outer parts of the doors.. if that makes sense.

But the letters are grey (only a slight shade lighter than the doors themselves) so it's kind of easy to miss if you're not looking for it. I usually sit about 1 foot away from my laptop screen when I watch, so I notice these things
