I was blessed with the opportunity to visit the Caslte set during my visit to LA – I have a few pics to post and some other cool stuff but won't be able to do that till I return home next week.  Here's a sneak preview:

Castle's Bedroom – obviously currently not in use for shooting LOL

That's really cool. When did you go? Can you post the full story of how you got to be on set?

I was at the set yesterday and yes, I got to meet the counterparts of Castle, Beckett, Esposito & Ryan plus lots of writting staff, directors, producers and all kinds of people who were all wonderfully nice to me. Without a doubt a wonderful cast and crew who I am sure have really enjoy working together every day.

Once I’m back home and have a few minutes to spare I will write up a report for you all, maybe even before if I have time to sit down for a while, it’s been a long exhausting trip to LA/San Diego but I’ve had a blast.

How cool that's got to have been neat to meet everyone. Castle has amazing writers and staff. I get to go to California next week for the first time to visit a friend in Sacramento. I'm so excited. Have a safe flight.

That's awesome!  How were you able to visit the set?  I'm moving to LA as soon as we get our house rented so I'm hoping to be able to do a set tour of Castle.  I've done tours of other shows and it was so awesome.

Do they schedule these things in with shooting, or are set visits a special privilege sort of deal?

I'll chime in and say I'd like to know as well. I'd be tempted to play a trip down south if I could work out a tour. :P

I'm sorry guys, my tour was a special invitation – the Castle set is not open to the public.  I felt very very privaleged to be allowed to go.

Maybe we'll need you to work some magic for the rest of us.

Anyway, my lights just flickered, so I'm not sure I should stay online. Stupid storms.

Could be because she set up the website. Either way, what a wicked opportunity. I really need to a.) meet someone famous, b.) do something awesome, or c.) become famous so that I can one day have these sorts of special privvies lol Wink

I think there's still hope for me to be able to visit somehow.  I'm trying to get into the entertainment business.  My ultimate goal is to be a producer.  I was very lucky about a year ago to meet a producer who came to the town I live in to adopt a baby.  I saw it as a sign that she came all the way from Los Angeles to adopt a baby in the small town in Georgia where I live.  My mom worked at the hospital so that is how I got to meet her.  She talked to me for a while and it was great inspiration/motivation.  It was as if everything in the universe lined up for me to have that opportunity.  She even said that herself.  As soon as I get out there I'm going to bust my butt to try to get my foot in the door somewhere.  I've even looked into jobs at the studio where Castle is filmed.  I love everything about television and film.  It would be so awesome to work at any studio, but the one where Castle is filmed would be an added bonus!

I think the key to getting involved in the entertainment business is being willing to work really really hard at the thankless jobs – I was told that by someone who works as a location manager (not on Castle). She said it's really hard work and the only way to get there is to work the jobs that pay badly, have terrible hours and are really hard work…but that that can pay off in the end. So if you're really wanting to get in the business, start at the bottom.

Oh yea, I'm totally expecting to start at the bottom.  If that's what it takes to reach my goal then that's what I'll have to do.  At least I'll be working towards something that I really want versus what I'm doing now.  I work as a secretary at a doctor's office now.  It's not a bad job at all, it's just not leading me anywhere that I want to be.  Fortunately, I will be able to work a job that has terrible pay because my husband will be the primary source of income.  He just got his masters degree in information systems, so at least I won't have to worry about that as much.

Thanks for the advice!  I'm open to any and all advice because this is going to be such a new experience for me.

The entertainment business is extremely competitive. But I agree, the dirty jobs that no one will accept are really the ones you should accept, even with the bad hours and pay. It will get your name out there, and you will get experience. On top of that if you can handle the worst then you'll feel great going into better relaxed and organized jobs. I really would love to work in the entertainment business but the chances of me packing up and going to LA or NY by myself are slim to nothing unfortunately. Maybe though I might actually wrap up the courage to do so. But all the hard work in the end will pay off and be rewarding in the end.

Did you witness any offscreen interaction between Nathan and Stana?  I was just wondering what there off screen relationship was like.
