Just an FYI that the Golden Globes are announced at 5 am in the morning (PST I believe on 12/15/09).
According to a blog on the LA Times site, Nathan and Stana are considered "possible" nominees for their categories. Let's keep our fingers crossed! Wouldn't that be awesome?!

I think it would be awesome, but while I think Stana SHOULD be nominated, I think it more likely that of the two, Nathan would be just because of the other potential nominees. When you are up against Glenn Close, J. Marguilies, Sally Field, Kyra Sedgwick, that's a pretty darned tough field to break into.

I so hope they get nominated! Even if they don't win, it would just be nice to see the recognized.

Basically you're right, but considering the fact that they've been nominated and awarded so many times, it would be great if they picked at least one "new face" for the nomination, and it would be really great if it was Stana…

Or Nathan. Both of them work very hard on Castle and deserve to be recognized.

i totally hope they get nominated they are both awesome actors and have worked really hard on castle!!!just to be nomitated would be like they say an honor !!!and if they do lets hope and pray they win!!!if they do ill seriously have a heartattack

it's almost impossible for them to be nominated because of the genre. Castle is a comedic drama, which falls between the categories. It's not serious enough for drama, and not funny enough for comedy (since it's labeled as a drama, I guess it won't even be considered in the comedy category). In dramatic drama series there are a lot of moving scenes where the actors can stretch themselves, tender, heart-breaking, angry, crazy… Castle is too light-weight. There's no nominations for "Best eye-roll". Which means the actors in Castle can be as good as anyone, but they don't get to show off as much. Maybe a scene now and then, but not to the same extent. If the writers create a great and long dramatic arch about the solving of Beckett's mother's murder, then Stana could have a chance at something. But that would clash with the light tone of the show…

I was just thinking the same Mere. I feel as though it is essentially the same year after year unless a bunch of shows get canceled around the same time in which case we finally see some new ones on the list. That said, I will admit that I only watch the red carpet coverage, not the actual award shows. I'm far more interested it what everyone is wearing, as vapid and shallow as it may be.

The nominations list is the most random one I've seen thus far- but yeah, I like the fashion aspect of the show. Oh, and the fact that Ricky Gervais is hosting it. It's gonna be a hoot. Steve Carrell beware!
