Just an FYI that the Golden Globes are announced at 5 am in the morning (PST I believe on 12/15/09).

According to a blog on the LA Times site, Nathan and Stana are considered "possible" nominees for their categories. Let's keep our fingers crossed! Wouldn't that be awesome?!

I think it would be awesome, but while I think Stana SHOULD be nominated, I think it more likely that of the two, Nathan would be just because of the other potential nominees. When you are up against Glenn Close, J. Marguilies, Sally Field, Kyra Sedgwick, that's a pretty darned tough field to break into.

Basically you're right, but considering the fact that they've been nominated and awarded so many times, it would be great if they picked at least one "new face" for the nomination, and it would be really great if it was Stana… :)

it's almost impossible for them to be nominated because of the genre. Castle is a comedic drama, which falls between the categories. It's not serious enough for drama, and not funny enough for comedy (since it's labeled as a drama, I guess it won't even be considered in the comedy category). In dramatic drama series there are a lot of moving scenes where the actors can stretch themselves, tender, heart-breaking, angry, crazy… Castle is too light-weight. There's no nominations for "Best eye-roll". Which means the actors in Castle can be as good as anyone, but they don't get to show off as much. Maybe a scene now and then, but not to the same extent. If the writers create a great and long dramatic arch about the solving of Beckett's mother's murder, then Stana could have a chance at something. But that would clash with the light tone of the show…

I was just thinking the same Mere. I feel as though it is essentially the same year after year unless a bunch of shows get canceled around the same time in which case we finally see some new ones on the list. That said, I will admit that I only watch the red carpet coverage, not the actual award shows. I'm far more interested it what everyone is wearing, as vapid and shallow as it may be. Embarassed

The nominations list is the most random one I've seen thus far- but yeah, I like the fashion aspect of the show. Oh, and the fact that Ricky Gervais is hosting it. It's gonna be a hoot. Steve Carrell beware!

haha. i'm a loser who watches both red carpet and the actual awards so shallow you are not. i like to see all the pretty dresses and make fun of the idiots who got dressed in the dark. :P

I hate that they always nominate the same people. It's so unfair to others who work so hard. Personally, I think that you should only be ablee to be nominated/win a certain amount of times for the same role.

Come on Sarah. You don't want a repeat of Susan Lucci? Wasn't she nominated like 19 times before she actually won? I always thought they should have gone for 20 simply to make it a nice, even number. Laugh
