I have been rewatching the old episodes from Season 1 and there he was – Perlmutter! Not to take anything from Lanie (Tamala Jones), but I miss Perlmutter's acid tongue. In small doses, he was hilarious.

If they could squeeze him somewhere together with Lanie, then he's ok with me. But if I have to pick one ME – he doesn't stand a chance, Lanie all the way! smile

I think he should be brought back! Not on a regular basis, but every 7 to 8 episodes. His comments were way too funny!

I disagree actually.  Other than being a good foil for Castle, I don't think he brought anything to the show.  He's good as a sub from now and then, but I'd rather not bring him back regularly.

i guess i miss him only because he was one of the original characters, but if push came to shove, i would rather have karpowski back than permutter, even though she had less airtime than she did… i don't know why?

I must say I do miss him too. A stereotype of someone buried in the catacombes, more used to dealing with dead bodies than live ones, no tact whatsoever and the accompanying inappropriate comments . Laugh

I miss Perlmutter too, it would be great to see him from time to time. Also Karpovsky.

Urgh, I don't miss Perlmutter at all. As for Karpowsky, I heard the actress that played her is in another show now, but I'd love to have her back from time to time.

I would never want Lanie replaced but I do miss the grumpiness Perlmutter would always display.

Oh yeah. Would love to see Karpowsky back too.

Both Det. Roselyn Karpowski (Diana Maria Riva) and M.E. Sidney Perlmutter (Arye Gross) were introduced in episode 202 The Double Down, when two parallel cases called for another ME and another detective for Beckett to boss around… and they stayed for some episodes now and then.

I liked them both very much. But time with them means less time with others… and it needs to fit the story, and it depends on the actors' availability of course. We could have Perlmutter in an episode when Tamala is busy preparing for the rumored Lanie-centric episode… Smile

I wish I knew how to quit you.

I do miss Perlmutter; there was a thought nagging at the back of my mind, also, that there might come a point in the show where the MEs would be placed in jeopardy and we would lose one of them – most likely Perlmutter would be the sacrificial lamb instead of Lanie.

My favourite Perlmutter moment is when he is eating a sandwich at an autopsy table and he offers Castle some of his sandwich which my hero declines. He is good for a laugh but Lanie is my favourite because of her interaction with the rest of the gang.Wave
