OfflineIt's a very sad news for all Castle fans. My deepest sympathy to his friends and family.

Stephen J Cannell passed away on Thursday September 30, 2010 at the
age of 69 from complications associated with melanoma according to his
publicist. Cannell was well known to Castle fans due to his guest
appearances on the show as one of Richard Castle's poker playing
buddies. Cannell was also featured in the Season 1 DVD set in a special
feature with Nathan Fillion.
Well known in television as producer of series including "The
Rockford Files", "21 Jump Street" and "The A Team", Cannell was also a
prolific best selling author and a devoted family man.
Cannell's family told ET, "Stephen J. Cannell passed away at his
home in Pasadena on Thursday evening due to complications associated
with melanoma. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones.
"Aside from being a legendary television producer and prolific
writer, Stephen was also a devoted husband, loving father and
grandfather, and a loyal friend. Mr. Cannell is survived by his high
school sweetheart and wife of 46 years, Marcia, their three children, Tawnia, Chelsea and Cody
and three grandchildren. Stephen was the pillar of strength within his
family and he touched everyone he met. He will be most deeply missed.
"The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the
American Cancer Society or The International Dyslexia Association.
Details regarding his memorial service will be released."
On behalf of Castle fans around the world CastleTV.net extends our deepest sympathies to Stephen's family and friends.

OfflineSuch sad news. My condolences to his friends and family, especially to his wife and children. Someone posted this article about his thoughts on love and marriage a few months ago, and it really stuck with me: http://www.orangecoastmagazine…..x?id=20884

OfflineWow. I hadn't heard. My sympathies to his family. He was such a talented guy. The amount of tv that he came up with has been incredible. His shows dominated the 1980's. He always seemed like a pretty humble man in every interview I saw him in, and it was great to see him on a few Castle episodes.

Thanks to Always!!!
I was just thinking about how much I wanted him to guest star on Castle again. And he did so much. He was basically Andrew Marlowe's mentor. So sad.

I watched a lot of his shows over the years. About a year ago I started re-watching ALL of the A-Team episodes.
