Similarities, definitely. The teaser we've seen, though, is just different enough from what's in the book to convince me that the teaser was not, in fact, Castle imaginging the scene, or a dream. Disappointing, as I still think that sequence is all kinds of weird.

 

Anyway, yeah there were some other beats that are very similar to the current situations of Castle and Beckett. It'll be interesting to see what sort of parallels we get in the show.

One thing though, I'm never quite sure how much we're supposed to read into what's in the book. For example, the Lauren/Ochoa stuff. Are we to take from this that Castle has picked up on some signals himself, or are we meant to dissassociate what is in the published version of Naked Heat from that written by Richard Castle on the show? Not sure if I explained that adequately….

Is it possible that Castle could have planned the whole getting caught for murder (like he did the duct tape thing) for his book?

 

I'm looking forward to reading Naked Heat- judging by the similarities (even though there are enough differences, like Danny Franks said), I'm guessing reading it will give some insight into the season ahead- even if not much. Oh, and the Don thing… anyone think that's kind of what KB's new guy is going to be like? It seems like a possibility- I mean, a no strings attached guy seems different for Beckett. It's just another one of my Castle deprived ideas =)

Wow, lots of similarities between the second chapter and the first episode of season 2! Yes, I mean 2, not 3.

And perhaps Castle has picked up on what we've picked up on, the "I'm looking forward to that" vibe between Lanie and Esposito… and run with it. Ryan will get something to tease Esposito about… Laugh – payback time!

About the getting arrested and season 3: So Castle has imagined this way of getting Rook and Heat together… and in the book it worked out perfectly (as far as chapter 2 goes). Then real life happens, he's at a crime scene when Beckett comes, and she arrests him – not like the book at all. Now, did he try to make his book come true, and it back-fired? Laugh Or is it just a random case of life imitating art? We'll see. But since he's there he can probably play the same card: I have useful info and insights for the case – let me help out.

I wish I knew how to quit you.

yes, about time!! it was a fun read.

as I try to stay away from s3 spoilers I can't make much connections to what's about to happen but I loved the s2 premiere deja vu

Season 2 premiere and Season 3 premiere seem similar- the whole Beckett's mad @ Castle thing, except Castle doesn't know (I think) what's she's pissed off about. That's ok though =D
