I think anyone who reads a lot feels the same way. The book is missing the classic throwbacks that real novels contain.

Yeah, and the form is just… odd. I probably won't be buying it, though, because the cover is ugly and the writing is pretty bad haha.

I confess I haven't read any of the book so can't comment on it.  I didn't even know about it till I read the other thread about the book signing event.  But I'm guessing from what everyone (mostly everyone) is saying that someone in ABC Publicity "wrote" the book, more as an advertising tool.  Too bad, because it's a clever idea.  I just hope it doesn't turn anyone away from the show, which as so many have pointed out is written so well!

The book (as far as I'm aware) is being written within the Castle team – not by ABC.

Which is why we can clearly picture the Castle cast in the roles within the book flawlessly lol. I'm going to probably by the book because well I hate to have a mystery unsolved. I know the break from chapter ten to eleven will drive me crazy haha

What's different about the break between Chapter 10 and 11? Is it longer than the standard week we're getting now?

No the way I calculated it (which could be slightly off) we'll get a chapter a week until the book is released. But once it is released, ABC won't be posting any more chapters of the story. That should be between chapters 10 & 11. That break is going to drive me crazy because it means I have to find time and money and get to a store to buy the book lol.

I want to say there are twenty chapters. Half of the book is being released online, the other half you have to buy the book.

Tell you guys what; if everyone is on board I'm good for it. I know a lot of you are students and funds are low. I will buy the book. After I read it I will mail it to the next person -free of charge. The next person will, in turn mail it to person next in line and so on. The last person to read it will mail it back to me.

OMG!  To all the teenagers on here: GET A JOB!  Babysit someone's kids, rake some leaves, scoop icecream, work at the mall, etc.  The book doesn't cost very much.  Support the show by buying your own copy.

I have a job lol Its hard for some people to get job like that because everyone is cutting back and not paying out as much. My babysitting business took a major cut back to being almost nonexistent since parents dont want to go out a pay someone to watch their kids.

Hahaha! Oh if only it were that easy. I applied to more than 20 different places this summer, some of them two or three times, but everyone was in a 'hiring freeze' so I didn't get a call back until last week. Now I do have a job (first day tomorrow!!!! Woot!) but guess what, tuition is due in a month. I plan on buying the DVD but the book isn't written well enough for me to buy it and keep it. I'll see if my local library can't get it in, though. ;)

To be honest, I haven't found the book all that thrilling so far (it is still early, so I will keep reading) but if it doesn't pull me in soon I won't buy it either. I haven't even finished chapter 3 yet – I downloaded it, read a couple of pages, and just wasn't all that interested in reading the rest. I have some other books right now to read (including the In Death series) that I don't want to put down when I'm reading.

I'll probably buy the dvd's, but I'll be watching the price and will buy it when it's reasonable. I'm heading to the States for a visit/conference soon after it comes out, so it may be cheaper to wait and buy it down there.

Currently on Imitation in Death – the Jack the Ripper one. I have the next couple after that to read and the new Kathy Reichs book 206 Bones which came out last Tuesday.
