My biggest problem is that I want to read them in order but don't want to buy them. So I hope from library to library looking for the next one to get my Castle "fix"

What's the first book in the series Lilmac? I'll see if I can track it down, I hate reading series out of order.

YESSSS!!! So you can see now how I would have thought "WAITAMINUTE!" when Castle first aired. I've been reading this series since Grade 8 (holy crap, that's a long time Shock) and it's the only series (yes, only!) that I actually buy. All other books get borrowed from the library, thank you very much. =P

I've re-read them multiple times and they just never get old. Imagine my surprise when on comes Castle and the perfect Lt. Eve Dallas walks on screen. That opening shot of Stana as Beckett was spot on 'Eve'. November can't come soon enough!!!

Beckett in her leather jackets this year just fits the Eve Dallas description to a tee.  Wonder if any of the stylists perused the In Death series…

I'm not sure which one I got but I think its one of the earlier ones, I checked in the front of the book. Its the one where the female cop was killed the the stairwell of her apartment block.

Its not bad, not something I'm devouring but an enjoyable read. Much better than her Nora Roberts stuff but so far I don't see any Castle in it. It doesn't have any humour that I've found but as I said it is the first one I've read.

I'm such a NR/JD Robb fan it's not even funny. I've met her numerous times and have almost all her books (150+) personalized.

Stana is perfect for the role of Eve. So much so that I can't picture another actress in the role should it ever make it to the screen. I know a lot of fans of the books have gotten hooked on Castle just because of the similarites. And vice versa.

SydneyDeb, it sounds like you're talking about Promises in Death which is the latest book. Well, the last books since Kindred in Death just came out yesterday. It's more on the serious side.

Yeah, Promises was a more recent one.  It was a darker than others.  I'd start at the beginning to see the evolution of the relationships and characters.  And there is quite a bit of humor in some of the books.

I just started reading Naked In Death and it is good (so far). I agree you should start with the first book because I didn't Doh.

I picked up Salvation In Death because it was the only one the local drug store had and I had a hard time getting through it. As a matter of fact, I didn't even get through it yet. However I ordered NID via amazon and it's going gangbusters.

I will eventually get back to Salvation… and maybe it will flow better now that I know more of that universe.

I LOVE these books. I don't know- there's just something about the characters. And the dialogue. I really do recommend them to anyone.
