I love the Firefly references in chapter 9, and it does look like Schlemming was removed. Well done, Alexis.

Firefly references?  I missed those.  Can someone clue me in?  And regarding chapter 8, my immediate reaction was "THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT!" Bounce2   At least, while waiting for Castle & Beckett to get together, I can imagine Nathan & Stana playing Rook & Heat and let that tide me over.

I haven't quite finished it, Nev827, but on pg.141 there are two detectives, "Malcom" and "Reynolds" from vice, can we say "Cap'n"? Bounce2

There may be more, but I was just skimming…

I have to say that I think Naked Heat is so much better than Heat Wave. They did a great job with this one.

I heart all the things that make me laugh. Both Nikki Heat books have some really wicked funny lines! [Image Can Not Be Found] Can't wait to finally get the physical book! Hurry up, Mr Postman!!!

OK Castle, but it's accompany and observe, and not participate and annoy, got it?

Thanks for the info halaci.  I'm so happy the book is doing well!  Just irritated my copy from Amazon shipped Monday and is not here yet!

I got my copy earlier in the week and finished it today.  It is longer and I think better than Heat Wave, though that was a very good book, but there were a few lines here and there that I thought were'nt well placed.  Naked Heat, on the other hand, is great!  Plus, we learn a fabulous secret about Rook that I can't help but wonder if ssomething similar will come out this season.  Finally,

Rook and Nikki bump into an ex-boyfriend of Nikki's – a Croatian guy named Petar Matic.  Who does that remind you of?  Laugh

What bothers me: in Castle's world the book was written before/during the summer. AFAIK there are not one things in the book (starting with the first chapter and the meeting of Heat and Rook) which happened/will happen very similarly in their "real" world – but there were no hints about it yet. Somebody should recognize that their "real life" follows the fiction of Castle so closely. I thought that in the last episode with the psychic they would mention it, but didn't.

I don't know who are BBI and MST3K but nobody needs to worry about me, I can sleep even with this uncertainity.Laugh

But jokes aside: One of the things I liked the most in this show was that how carefully they built up Castle's world. That even one slight remark in an episode was perfectly fitted with another one many more episode later (see eg. the Beckett's timeline topic in this forum). This was a perfect way to provide arcs in the storyline without even writing stories or episodes behind them, made the characters real.

The more times I will hear that "this is just a show" when it is about leaks or inconsistencies in the storytelling (not in the individual case plots!), the less will remain from this.

From another approach: The most loyal viewers of this show (I think any character-driven show) are the ones who cares about the characters, follow their lives. Suggesting that it isn't worth because anything can happen as "this is just a show" is the fastest way to loose them. (It's not just about hurting them – they are the best PR of the show telling everybody around them how great it is, they see the show on TV then on the net on the show's site, then on Hulu, raising the ratings.)
