Never have I ever read a Mystery book, let alone a Mystery Thriller.  However, after watching a Castle episode involving alexis going to the prom, and when she comes home Castle is sitting up waiting for her and he was reading a book.  It was Chelsea Cain's Sweetheart. I read her first book, Heartsick, and I'm about to start this second book. Loved it!  Could not put it down!  A bit gory but it does deal with serial killers. The characters are great and the dialogue is mighty funny in parts.  Great read. I hope to find other great mystery books to read.

I just finished Sweetheart by Chelsea Cain. It was fantastic. I just started the book that actually comes before it- Heartsick. If they keep making recommendations like that, I'm ready!

Chelsea Cain is fantastic! I finished the third installment Evil at Heart in like a day. I love when I literally can't put a book down. Archie and Gretchen's twisted relationship always leaves me wanting more.

"The Last Harry Potter Book" was mentioned by Martha when talking to Castle about how no one was buying Storm Fall and how people were lined up around the block to buy the last Harry Potter book.

Castle mentioned the short story "A cask of amontillado" by Edgar Allan Poe in one episode. I read it a few years back and I squealed when he mentioned it. Alexis was also reading "The pit and and the pendulum" in the Halloween episode :)
