I don't know if a topic on these two and their story already exists ( hope I didn't overlook anything ) but it's actually a relationship and dynamic I'm really interested in or it at least caught my attention.

I have no clue how reliable this page is or anything and I don't know if I'm up for translating the whole thing but question no. 8 and its answer deal with the Beckett/Esposito relationship and Jon says: "There's loyalty that can only be explained with a backstory/history that runs very deep … we'll learn more about that later… "
Now, this is not the first time I've heard or read Jon Huertas say something similar.
I get the whole brother/sister thing they've got going but there are also looks that Esposito has thrown Beckett in the past or remarks he made like " Hey Beckett, how come you don't wear a uniform like that?! " ( 2x01 ), " That's kinda hot" ( 2x01 ) , the whole dress thing in 1x07 or his look after Royces boob story in 'Under the Gun' – well I could be wrong , I'm just saying I'm not sure what Jon is suggesting in this interview ( and has been before I guess )
Do you think they will elaborate on that further? Any other thoughts on this?

I have also notice while Rewatching the shows that there does seem to be a good friendship feeling between Kate and Esposito. In season 3 eps 1 there were several times when esposito looked at Kate knowing how she felt about castle not calling all summer. Ryan doesn't seem to have the same closeness as Esposito does. I remember the scene of her sitting at her desk looking sad and esposito rolled back in his chair and gave her a very sweet look before Ryan rolled back and he caught him it was a very cute scene. Maybe her and Esposito have worked together a long time has anyone ever asked why Kate has no partner anyway.

I would love to see more of the Beckett/Esposito relationship. I think the things Esposito says to her in 2.01 and other times is just teasing, it seems they have a great relationship, and I really hope they explore that route. Back story would be great.

JH mentioned in a article once that Esposito would give his life for Beckett, it will be interesting if he is perhaps a little over protective of her when Season Four commences.
Yeah, I don't think they were romantically involved. It's probably just that they've worked together for a long time. We know that Ryan came to the 12th after Esposito.
But I wouldn't mind an explanation on their backstory, in season 4. Just to remove any ambiguity.
Jon has indicated that Esposito will try to find the shooter in 4x01, and he's also probably the one who will recognize the signs of PTSD in Beckett, and why she should see a shrink. So, that will be a good opportunity to get a little insight into their backstory. Not in the scenes with the shrink, but maybe in a scene between Castle and Esposito, and Esposito would tell Castle why she needs to see a shrink, and what happened last time she went to therapy after her mother's death, and he could explain why he's always been there for her, or something like that.

That would be really nice to see. I've always felt that Beckett and Esposito have a really close brother/sister type relationship and it would be nice for Esposito to share some of their backstory.

Maybe they came across each other at the academy or when both were beat cops, became friends, and eventually ended up working together in homicide? I'd like to see an episode that shows Beckett's early days at the 12th as a detective and her first experiences working with Esposito as well. Maybe Esposito had a parent or close relative who was murdered so he could relate to how Beckett feels having lost her mom?

I've noticed that she seems to touch him a lot, at least more often than any other team member.
I'd like some sort of back story on how the team got together in the first place, the three of them work so well together.
