1) Maybe Patrick Swayze, Richard Gere, Dustin Hoffman, or Pierce Brosnan(but they probably wouldn't do tv lol)

2) He should be a retired English professor

Sadly,  Patrick Swayze is very, very ill– Stage IV pancreatic cancer. Not looking good for him.  I think that series he did for A&E: The Beast will probably be his last credit.

I think the Becketts should be from Connecticut.  Her dad could be an English professor at Yale.  That would be cool.  Plus, people from Connecticut don't have accents, right?  Beckett is so not a Jersey girl.

No no no no no no. Beckett's not from Jersey at all. She's from Manhattan. Her father reitred and moved out to Jersey after he got sober and everything.

Wow, lilmac11313, you like Jersey, huh?  I don't see it.  If Beckett really grew up in Manhattan, there's no way she would allow her dad to retire to Jersey.  Manhattanites hate Jersey.  And why is he retired?  I'd like to think Beckett helped him get through a rough time and now he's back to whatever he was doing before the murder.  He's probably a little too young for retirement.

.:shrugs:. As for Jersey. I don't especially love it but I do live there. And I don't mean that he has to move to a crappy town lol. There are some highly expensive towns that he could have moved too. And if he isn't already retired he's gotta be close to it. Considering that Beckett is indeed 29-30 like the original script wanted, then her father would be in his 50s or 60s. Most people I know have retired between those years.

Of course he's awesome!  He's most well-known for playing the sargent on the TV show CHiPs in the late 70s/early 80s.  I had a CHiPs poster in my room when I was a kid.  I'm a superfan!

I want Beckett's dad to do the "prom date meets the old man" thing that they all talked about in the finale lol. Kate could be somewhere else and when she comes back Castle looks terrified Laugh

It'd still be really funny to see him grill Castle though and Castle get all embarrassed because it's so obvious he's falling in love with Detective Beckett already. So Mr. Beckett grills Castle, Castle gets embarrassed and is terrified, Kate comes out thinking that she's the one who terrified Castle only to remember their prom talk and scold her Daddy lol.
