My thoughts are a bit different!  I would love it if in their search for the gangster that hired the guy to kill Johanna Beckett, they find out his name.  Either through interrogation of a witness to some other murder or something Beckett's Dad tells her about her Mom offhandedly!  Her mom knew the killer and he was familiar with her Dad as well.  They see this as their opportunity to bring him out of hiding by staging one of those good ol' Irish Weddings!  (remember this involved the Westies, The Irish Mob so to speak!)  THey set up Beckett for the bride and of course Castle is the groom!  They play it up with the Irish crowd and invite the guy that Johanna knew that had her killed!  Her Father of course, is blind to this as a setup, but everyone else in the precinct knows.  Ryan of course is in charge of finding a cop to be the minister….he finds a friend of his that is a Justice of the Peace and is supposed to let him in on this is just for pretend.  That tidbit of info never made it to the Justice. The wedding arrives the crord arrives the bride looks beautiful, even with her gun in her bouquet!  Castle makes all sort of wedding jokes prior to the big day….Beckett rolls her eyes and tells him he should feel alot better, this one won't cost him alimony!  ha  When Castle sees Beckett, coming down the aisle with her father, he really feels in the moment.  He has forgotten it is a set up.  He swallows hard and has his eyes locked on Beckett the entire time.  When Beckett sees Castle's look, she is drawn in…she forgets and has to look away to break his hold on her.  THey say their vows, but Caslte wrote his own!  (Beckett says, What is he doing?  This isn't part of the plan!)  He tells her she has changed him and he likes the man he has become since meeting her.  Beckett melts, they kiss as pretend man and wife.  Beckett, rides the wave of emotion—-then all hell breaks loose as they grab the Irish Mobster and take him away for the murder of Johanna Beckett.  THe reception that was filled with cops……breaks up and all that's left is the precinct's little family, Ryan, Esposito, Montgomery, Castle and Beckett…..Ryan's phone rings—it is the Justice of the Peace….he signed the marriage license and wants Ryan to come pick it up downstairs!  Ryan swallows hard and says WHAT?  What marriage license??  He says it so loud, that Castle and Beckett star him straight in the eyes!  He is yelling now—–"The wedding was not real, it was a set up man!"  The marriage is real??  What????  Beckett is incensed……Castle is amused….

THe justice tells them they have to go through filing an absolution of marriage and wait for a judge to rule the dissolution of marriage!  An Annulment!  Oh my god!  Beckett goes off…….marriage????  She can't be married to Richard Castle?  Castle is hurt….he tells Beckett privately he had nothing to do with this, but that if they get the papers he will sign the annulment if tha tis what Beckett wants.  He leaves….

He goes off to soothe his emotions….Beckett goes off to explain to her father that it was not real …he is confused.  She says she is too….she sits along and just can not believe what happened….but then she remembers what Caslte's vows were…and how handsome he looked.  She knows she hurt him.  She knows they need to talk.

She goes over to his apartment.  He is upstairs playing the piano…..Martha answers.  Beckett and Martha exchange hugs…..Martha tells Beckett he is upstairs……she goes up the stairs and sees him sitting at the piano playing a very slow, sad song……she stops and just stares at this man.  He confuses her so much, she is mad one minute at him….then he just tugs at her heart.  It is as if he sees her, he stops playing and says out loud…..I signed them.  They're on the piano.  She walks over and sits by him on the stool.  "Look Kate, you certainly are not the first woman that wanted out of a marriage to me….it's ok.  At least I won't have to pay for this one….."  She says, for what it's worth, you said some really beautiful things today, thank you.  

He says I meant every word Kate….She leans in and kisses his cheek, he turns and sees tears in her eyes as she says,

You would make a wonderful husband, Castle.  "Just not yours, he says. 

She takes the annulment papers and leaves quietly as he continues sitting at the piano but not playing…..She turns to look at him as he slowly, thinking she is gone lays his head down on the piano and cries…..

Once at home Kate, is restless.  She hurt him.  She is confused.  Her heart is attracted to him, he lets her be herself and allowed her to have fun again.  He is good for her.   She gets up…takes the papers and tears them up.  She will find a day, the right day, to tell Castle they are still man and wife.  She will never annul the marriage…but she'll find the right moment to share what she really feels when she can deal with all of her emotions.  Today is not that day.  It can wait….
