As a huge Nathan Fillion fan I had been eagerly awaiting CASTLES premiere and last night I was not disappointed. CASTLE is throughly entertaining! I love the interaction between the characters, the story line, the humor and wit. There are so many directions this show can take us. I can't wait to find out what happened in Beckett's past to inspire her to become a police officer as well as learn more about how Castle's relationships with his mother, ex-wife and daughter shape him into the man he is, and see the kind of man he becomes as his and Beckett's relationship progresses.
I hope everyone got a chance to see it last night but if you missed it there is a rebroadcast Saturday and it is available for viewing online at the ABC website.

Wow, was I very happy to watch the premiere episode. Nathan, I have been a fan for a long time, and quietly and firmly remain one. The relationships in this show between all the characters was smartly done and very entertaining. I especially loved Molly Quin's character, something very lacking on tv for me…a witty intelligent girl. Thank you for this show, well written, snappy, and refreshing. A huge thumbs up from the family couch…who usually aren't ABC watchers OR online fans like this! Now, if I could only get On Demand cable to have this on its listings I'd be in heaven.

I'm extremely happy with it. It was everything I'd hoped for and more! Nathan and Stana have great chemisty. I adore Castle's mom, though I totally get why he'd want to strangle her. That whole family dynamic fascinates me, I loved the scenes with his mom and daughter. I found Beckett's coworkers likable as well, though they kind of blend together for me at this early point.
Overall, my opinion is best expressed thusly: (emoticon with hearts, that seems to have disappeared for now)

Okay. The first episode was a winner. My new favorite line "My safe word is apples." and who knew that NF had such flexible feet! Molly Quinn was darling. Her line about raising her allowance was great. I love the set of the loft (somewhere I saw a clip about the design). It felt just exactly right as a home for a wealthy writer. Can't wait for next week.
I'm really happy with the show.

Yeah!
This board is back! I of course enjoyed Castle!
I read a few blogs @ TVguide.com questioning if Castle is a keeper. "Whatever!" I say!
11 million is great & I was happy to see ABC still running promos during LOST.

LOL… I hadn't even realized that was why he was saying it! That just makes that scene even better for me!

YAY!! I thought Castle was Excellent! I'm so happy with this show. I thiink maybe it will have a wide appeal to different audiences because my sister likes it alot, too, and we never like the same shows! And she is (sadly and unbelievabily neutral on the wonderfullness of Nathan! I just don't get it!). However, she did say that she thought he was way cuter in this than she'd ever thought when she'd seen him before in other things …. so, maybe there is hope for her after all!

I watched this show solely for Mr. Fillion. Mehr, I don't think I could ever be disappointed by him. I tune in for every replay of every episode hoping this one won't be canceled.

I've been a Nathan Fillion fan since the Firefly days. I think he's a great actor. He can play it smary, charming and light, or he can play it serious and either way he's spot on. That one scene with Kate was so great. I am so ready for a lighter mystery serious with a little romance thrown in. Or a lot… just sayin. And on a silly note, Nathan has never looked cuter than he does in the series. He's just adorable…even when he's being smarmy. *g*

Did anyone watch Saturday night? How were the ratings?
I finally caught the "Apples! Apples!" line when Det. Kate grabbed his noise. Too funny!

The ratings don't look very good. Castle only got 3.69 million viewers, a 0.9/3 share (whatever on earth that means), coming in third in its time slot Saturday night. Of course, that's a rerun of something that was on only five days ago . . . I'm hoping most of those were new people, and we can add them to the 11 million and they'll all tune in tomorrow.

I don't know how hard they look at the rerun night. I'm guessing that how many viewers return this coming Monday will be more important than the Saturday numbers.

I'm loving it. There were some moments of briliant nuanced acting, witty dialogue, some funny, funny stuff and enough story direction to keep going for quite a while. I'll be back, week after week and looking forward to Monday night. Thanks for giving Nathan this role – pure genius. I love watching that man work.

Thanks Laura.
I noticed that Castle starts at 10:02pm tonight instead of the usually 10:00'oclock sharp.
Do you know if they will be running reruns again this Saturday night?

I think it started at 10:02 last week too because the initial ratings were adjusted to reflect the 2 minutes.
I have no idea if they'll be running the repeat every week or if it was just for the pilot

I just checked the TV guide and Castle IS listed for a repeat this week. I think that shows ABC has faith in the show.

Two friends from work are tuning in again tonight. They've made fun of my wallpaper for several years (The Capn, of course) but suddenly NF's lookin' good.
