I didn't see a topic on this yet, so I thought I should add one.
How about keeping a list of all of Castle's books as the show mentions/shows them?
The books are followed by the first place I (or someone else) noticed them. The same set are often shown repeatedly -. In the first ep, when they go to the apartment of Kyle Cabot, he's got multiple copies of the same book throughout.
Nikki Heat
Derek Storm
- Storm Fall (Last Storm novel) - Ep 1 – book launch, Kyle's apartment
- Gathering Storm - Ep 1 – Kyle's apartment – there are two different spines shown with this title
- Unholy Storm (6th Storm novel) - Ep 6 – Castle mentions it while standing over 1st murder victim
- Storm's Last Stand - Ep 1 – Kyle's apartment
- Storm Season – Ep 7 – When Castle is talking to the bumpkey guy
- Storm Rising
- Storm's Break - Ep 1 – Kyle's apartment
- Storm Warning
- The calm before the Storm (not quite positive on the title, it's a little blurry)
- Storm Approaching - Ep 1 – When Alexis and Castle talk in hallway of apartment – first cover hanging on wall. It's a little blurry
Others
- Death of a Prom Queen - Ep 1 – 3rd murder victim from book, Kyle's apartment
- Flowers For Your Grave - Ep 1 – 1st murder victim from book, Kyle's apartment
- Hell Hath No Fury - Ep 1 – 2nd murder victim shown (actually first) from book, KYle's apartment
- A Skull at Springtime - Ep 1 – When Ryan passes a stack of books to Esposito, Kyle's apartment
- At Dusk We Die - Ep 1 – Book Ryan is holding when he announces “from the library ofKatherine beckett”
- When it comes to Slaughter - Ep 1 – Kyle's apartment
- A Rose for Everafter - Ep 1 – Kyle's apartment
- In a Hail of Bullets – Richard Castle bio for Heat Wave book
Any that I've missed so far?

I took most of the list directly from wikipedia – although I did update their site this morning to add two books they were missing. I've been rewatching the first episode and when they go through Kyle's apartment they show lots of the book covers.
Oh, already missed one – Storm Fall.

Found another one, Storm Warning. It's mentioned in the last episode when Castle talks with the mob dude.

Excellent work! I hadn't thought of this. I see you have located 16 titles so far. We know there are 26 according to Castle in Little Girl Lost episode. thanks again.

In the pilot when Castle is pushing Alexis down the hall, there are framed book covers on the wall, I believe the closest one (only one you can kind of read) could be Storm Approaching

I've seen a cover for a book titled "Kissed and Killed."
In the original pilot, there was a poster at the party with some of his books on it, where this one showed up. I don't know if it made it into the final aired pilot, though.
I also have it on excellent authority that Castle's very first book is titled "In A Hail of Bullets" but I don't know if there is any aired confirmation of this.

I just love that they've taken the time to create an almost alternate reality with the Richard Castle books, it adds way more to the actual story. To see flashes of his 'real', creative life instead of him just shadowing Beckett is a nice touch of detail.

Looking over the list I have made from other sites, I found two books that were forgotten.
Bullets and Bracelets
Dead Man's Chest

If BigSis and lilmac11313 could let me know where you say those, I'll add them to the list. I don't want to update with books that haven't been officially mentioned – either in the show or with in press releases. So if you can provide a link, or let me know which episode and about where I'll check for them.

I was just thinking that maybe it would be a good idea to add (beside the title of the novel, for example) the episode(s) that the titles are seen in, that way anyone who's curious knows where to go to find said novel. Just throwing it out there, though I'm sure you don't have time to add them all right away, maybe people can start posting future novel titles with the episode titles as well.

Excellent idea, and a good reason to re-watch all the episodes. :P

“Kissed and Killed†shows up in the original pilot. Sorry, it wasn’t on the party poster like I thought, but it is shown in the stack of books that Beckett is looking through in the suspect’s rooms. I don’t know if it is the same stack of books in the aired version of the pilot, though, because I think they reshot that scene. When I was in LA, I also saw a wall poster with a bunch of covers on it that had been designed for the show, and it appeared there as well. (It was the only cover I saw that was not on your original list.)
“In a Hail of Bullets†has no aired confirmation yet, but the information came from someone involved in the show who told me that it was Castle’s first book.

Hmm, I kind of only want to list books that are shown in an episode, or are mentioned in publicity about the show (for example Heat Wave – I don't think he ever confirms the title in the first season).
Kissed and Killed is not in the stacks, I looked really carefully. It'd be nicer to have higher resolution copies, but some times the backgrounds of books are blurry. I think it's probably often done on purpose so you can't tell they're always showing the same set of covers.
I've been re-watching ep one, and interestingly, Kyle has a copy of Storm Fall in his apartment. But then after they arrest him, Castle presents Beckett with an advanced copy of Storm Fall as it has yet to be released. This is mentioned again in a later episode (2 or 3 maybe) when Castle gets the call from his mom because "nobody is buying your books."

By the way, the Amazon "author blurb" for Heat Wave tells you a bit about Castle's first novel ;)

Gah, I saw you had that already after I posted, sorry.
I was going to edit it to add that one of the writers uses the Flowers for Your Grave cover as a twitter background:
http://a3.twimg.com/profile_ba…..wers_2.jpg
since that might be a newer piece of information, but I couldn't seem to actually edit the thing. It kept kicking me back to the page one list…

It looks like there have been 3 episode titles that duplicate Rick Castle's book titles:
* #101 – Flowers For Your Grave
* #104 – Hell Hath No Fury
* #212 – A Rose For Everafter
I wonder if there will be any more as time goes by.
