before he opens it…there is a newspaper with the news of kate's shooting on the front page…on his desk

after he makes the phonecall….he removes an obviously previously folded clipping of the same headline from over castle's photo….not an entire newspaper…

it was not on the desk before the envelope was opened…so how is a clipping from after his death in an envelope he sent before his death?
