OfflineBefore I REALLY started getting into Castle there were a handful of couples that I used to love but have either fallen from grace or just plain be been replaced by my love for our favorite detective and author.
For me it used to be Sonny and Kate from General Hospital and after they broke-up I was super sad, but now that I think about them compared to Caskett "ehhh, that relationship was doomed" comes to mind.
When I was really into Gossip Girl I was a fan of both Blair and Chuck and Lily and Rufus, but I kind of fell of the GG wagon after season 2
However, there is one couple that will never be replaced in my heart, possibly because I just love the entire family and they remind me of my mom and dad, is Sandy and Kirsten from The OC. Though I don't feel like there's to much of a conflict with my love for Castle and Beckett because the OC is no longer on and my love for each couple is different.
So what are the relationships that either have become less important or replaced since watching Castle? I guess that's assuming you are a fan of them in a romantic way

OfflineMine would have to be Carter and Abby from ER but that relationship was doomed from the start cause He always wanted to try and help her through her problems instead of love and have a relationship with her.
I always yelled at the Tv " quit trying to fix her and just love her for who she is" But my modern day tv couple besides our DD would have to be Emily and Damon from MIOBI they're so cute together

OfflineHmmm…..well for me it was Jerry and Alexis from General Hospital. But looking back on their relationship I can see that it was doomed from the start. I also liked Kate and Sonny, but again, they were doomed. However, my favorite GH couple of all time will always be Nikolas and Emily! I was soo sad when they killed her and omg, they were the epitome of soul mates. If any couple can be placed in the same category as Castle and Beckett, it would be those two for sure.

OfflineI haven't had a favorite TV couple in a long, long time. There are couples on TV I liked (Ray and Neela on ER, Monica and Chandler on Friends), but certainly did not obsess over like Castle and Beckett (ok, that sounds bad. How about analyze?).
Years ago, I had big things for Sully and Michaela on Dr. Quinn (hate Westerns, but loved those two), Jake and Megan on One Life to Live (in my soap watching days in the late 80s/early 90s, and strangely the same actor as on Dr. Quinn), and Maddie and David on Moonlighting.
Castle and Beckett top them all for me…better chemistry, better writing.
Fun topic…thanks Alie!

OfflineOf shows still on the air, I'd have to say Chuck and Sarah, from Chuck. And funnily enough, they're the best proof around that you can put your main characters into a relationship and it will actually make the show better, if done right.
I like Raylan and Winona on Justified, though they're a bit more complicated, in that they were married, then divorced, then she married someone else. And now she's cheated on her husband with her ex-husband.
Of all time? Hmmm. I tend to like ones that never quite materialize, for one reason or another. Carter and Anna on E.R, Sam and Ainsley on The West Wing. I wouldn't say I 'shipped those couples, but it was more a case of, 'wouldn't it be nice if…' Unfortunately Maria Bello's movie career and Emily Procter getting a central gig on CSI threw spanners into the works.

OfflineHmmm…Castle and Beckett are not my favorite couple, House and Cuddy are but they are a close second.
From all time, Mulder and Scully because they were actually the first couple I have shipped and they will always be my favorite. No one can top them for me.
I really liked President Roslin and Admiral Adama from Battlestar Galactica. I think that they are the only couple that was written just like I wanted them to be written. I wouldn't change anything about their story.
I also like Liz and Jack from 30 Rock because they are crazy and weird lol.

OfflineBesides Castle and Beckett, I am really enjoying the relationship between Dr. Lightman and Dr. Foster on Lie to Me.
However, Mulder and Scully, along with Piper and Leo, would have to be my first favorite TV couples (and they still are some of my favorites). Along with them, I also enjoyed Sawyer/Juliet, Charlie/Claire, Hurley/Libby, Jin/Sun and Desmond/Penny from Lost. From ER, I liked Pratt and Chen together, because I just thought they looked cute together and they seemed to fit each other.
That's pretty much it for me.

OfflineGreat topic. I was another "Carby" Carter and Abby from ER and agree with carterfan 87 on why it didn't work, they could have been so great together. Carter grew up during his friendship/relationship with Abby. Was also a fan of Carter and Anna from Season 4? but regardless of Anna (Maria Bello) leaving Carter was still too much the boy then IMO.
Going back I loved Laura and Remington from Remington Steele and Lee and Amanda from Scarecrow and Mrs King (which while being a bit of a silly show did not do a bad job with the relationship prior to Kate Jackson's illness coming into play).
The show that nearly scarred me for life was Prison Break, I was a mad Michael and Sara shipper, I surprised myself over how obsessed I became and when it ended (apart from promising myself never to watch anything connected with any of the shows those PTB produced again). I also swore never to become as involved with a show or ship again – and then came Castle. I was not looking for Caskett, I did not want to be pulled in and yet here I am. Thus far it is a much happier and joyous fandom to be involved in and yes I think I am more obsessed with Castle/Beckett than anything that has come before.
There's that great line from Pride and Prejudice from Darcy about loving Elizabeth "against his will" or something like that, well that was me with Castle. Oh and if we are including Novels/Minni series etc. then yes I have to say Elizabeth and Darcy from P & P (the BBC one) and Elinor and Edward from Sense and Sensibility.

OfflineI used to love the oc my fave couple was sandy and Kirsten, because everyone else were teenagers (I was just outta high school when the show started) other couples um mac and Felicia from general hospital (late 90s) Bobby and Lindsay? (kelli willams from lie to me, I think lindsay was her characters name) Mateo and Hailey (all my children, they were popular in the mid 90s) that's all I can think of
I hoped for years that Elliot and Olivia from Law & Order SVU would get together, but the stupid powers that be (namely, Neal Baer) just wasted chance after chance to make that the best show ever, and I got tired of being disappointed. I'm so glad I found Castle. It truly is the Best. Show. Ever!

OfflineI'm a crazy shipper! I just cannot not have a couple to ship for.
Most of the couples I love were already cited here, however, I do like some unorthodox couples.
I think that the very first couple I rooted for was Jesse and Becky in Full House… followed by Piper and Leo (Charmed), who were the first ones to et me to foruns, artwork and shipper madness =)
I was a strong Carby fan, but once that was over, I really fell for Dr. Susan and Chuck relationship (drunk marriage in Vegas, divorce, pregnancy…) they were fun together and she was my favorite character in the show (ER).
I was crazy about Dr. Cox and Jordan in Scrubs, never really cared about JD and Elliot, but those two were hilarious, and everything he or she would warm up to each other I'd just melt…
I did enjoy Bones/Both relationship once, nut I can't barely remember why =P And now I'm a completely devoted Caskett fan (best will-they-wont-they in TV) and a newly converted Chuck/Sarah fan (just catch up with the series now) and I have to agree with Yossarian, it's the best example that TV couples CAN work and usually do best when they are together. I now there are a lot of long term chuck fans who are dissatisfied with their relationship, but I find it really rewarding to watch as it was during the whole development.
I'd be extremely satisfied if Castle writers would follow their example, and with their amazing writing (which tops Chuck by far) I can't imagine myself not being in love with Castle and Beckett forever =P

OfflineWell, this will definitely date me, but I loved Robert and Kate on General Hospital, then Robert and Anna on the same show. And, yes, I loved Maddie and David from Moonlighting, but they don't hold a candle to Beckett and Castle. Looking back, they seemed to fight more than being friends. I like the slow building relationship we are seeing on Castle. I think it will be lasting.

OfflineBefore Castle & Beckett, i always had a knock for Bones and Booth but after what the writers did in that 'one special' season finale, i hopped off the Bones wagon tbh. The other would be Chuck and Blair, they are perfect but yet so imperfect together lol. I really like the Chuck and Sarah relationship on the show 'Chuck' frankly it proves that a show can still work if the two are in a relationship.
