Hey, I was watching my season 1 DVD for the umpteenth time and an idea occurred to me. Castle is assisting Beckett on her cases, wouldn't it be likely that eventually he will be called to the stand? I can imagine Castle so excited that he actually is going to be a witness for a trial, but I can also imagine that on the big day he would be more than a little nervous. It would be fun to see that side of the law for an episode, especially if some of Castle's methods for getting things done are not exactly by the book.

How many of you would like to see Castle in the hot seat?

Ooh, I like the hot prosecutor idea. Beckett would get jealous at that.

I'd love to see this kind of idea realized, especially if it can be fashioned as a glib mocking of Courtroom dramas (the very ones that 'Castle' will be up against in its timeslot after the Olympics are done). I can envision it now: Castle has a minor witness role in a case and steals the show. Through some on-the-fly detective work, he implicates some unexpected baddies in the middle of his cross-examination. You fill in the rest.

Oh I know, Admin, but it is fun to dream. Although I think on another show I used to watch the writers were taking my ideas. It seemed odd that many months after publishing a fanfic for that show, one of the episodes featured my exact idea! It could have been a coincidence, but it was still odd.
