OfflineHi all. As we all know, Castle has had a good number of excellent actors and actresses as guest stars in various episodes. These folks include regular guests Stephen Cannell and James Patterson, as well as Bill Smitrovich (in more than one interview Stana has gushed over how much she loved working with him and how talented he is), Alyssa Milano (who Nathan really enjoyed working with), Dan Castellaneta, Arye Gross, Keir Dullea, K Callan, Danny Nucci, Debi Mazar, Reed Diamond, Marc Blucas, and Sarah Brown. Future episodes will feature Dana Dulany and Joe Torre.
So I'm wondering who has been your favorite guest star thus far and who would you like to see brought back, assuming that character hasn't been killed off.
Two actors I'd like to see come back, even though they had small parts, are Rick Gonzalez (Mickey in The Third Man) and the "wordsmith" who punched Castle in an earlier episode. I can't remember his name, but I really enjoyed his character.
I'd also love to see anyone from Firefly come back as a guest.

OfflineLaura, I'm excited about Ray Wise too!!! I just love that he has played a lawyer, demon, devil and a priest in other shows. What a great combination!
Nev827, I really like the "wordsmith" too (his name is Norman Jessup, by the way). I would love to see him back.
As for guest stars, I liked Nick Chinlund (jewerly thief in Home is Where the Heart Stops that Castle talks to in the jail cell), because he was on The X-Files and his character on that show was just plain creepy.
All in all, I enjoy the guest stars and they bring so much to the show.

OfflineI, too, loved Norman Jessup (played by J.B. Smoove…he looked familiar – he's done some stuff on SNL and written for them, according to IMDB). I LOVE Jillian Armenante, who played Susan Mailer in the "Ghosts" episode – she's such a fantastic character actress. And I am SUPER psyched for Dana Delany, who I have loved since she was on China Beach in the '80s – probably my favorite TV show of all time.
I'd really love to see someone from a show where Stana or Nathan played a pass-through character show up on Castle as one – like Jennifer Garner, Michael Chiklis, etc.

OfflineI'm with Stana too, regarding Bill Smitrovich. I remember him on Life Goes On and his small part in Air Force One. He's great in whatever role he plays. Thanks everyone for helping me find the "wordsmith" Norman Jessup, a.k.a. J.B. Smoove. so he wrote for SNL, huh? No wonder he's got such a flair for comedy. I'd love it if they brought him back, maybe to help solve a future case or to help Castle & Beckett get out of that elevator or broom closet that they get stuck and have their first kiss in!
I was also glad to see K Callan (Delores Marsh in A Chill Runs Through Her Veins, the woman who talks to Castle & Beckett at her front door). I've been a fan of hers ever since she played Martha Kent in Lois & Clark back in the 90s.
Ooh, Michael Chiklis would be great, Mis. Especially if he played the Commissioner! And I'd love to see Beckett go toe-to-toe with Jennifer Garner or even Mariska Hargitay. Not necessarily in a cat fight, but just have words back and forth. I think the ratings among men would go through the roof if either guest starred!

OfflineWhat about the wife and fiance from #210, One Man's Treasure (one of my favorites)
Abigail Spencer as Sarah Reid and
Perrey Reeves as Helen Parker…
I thought the stunned/outraged wife was well-played,
as well as the mult-layered character of the fiance.

My three fav's are Det Karpowski, Norman Jessup, and Perlmutter. I'd like to see all of them have recurring guest roles…they are fabulous and add extra dimension to the show.

OfflineI didn't think about Jeremy and Anne. And I only saw Double Down for the first time last night, so I hadn't seen Karpowski when I started this thread. Somehow I got the impression watching the episode that they introduced her character to bring her back in a recurring role. I certainly hope they do bring her back. Put her together with Lanie and Beckett's got a good group of gal friends to join at happy hour and to help her admit her feelings for Castle!

OfflineNev827…LOVE the girls' happy hour idea…I think it works great to have family and friends play a prominent role in relationship analysis, especially when the writers want to pace a relationship and the fans want movement! It tides me over when characters can admit their feelings to someone!
I could be wrong, but I swear Karpowski has been seen here and there in episodes…just not as much as in Double Down.
I love Lanie, but Perlmutter does crack me up…his dry wit fits in well…wasn't he in the Ellen DeGeneres sitcom years back?
