I have given birth to an OCD prodigy.  Last night I was watching Setup and Countdown with my sons (13 and 15 years old).  My 13 year old son points out that at the end of Countdown, when Esposito asked Castle if he knew how lucky he was, he said "I do".  (I was thinking 'so what?  he's about to rip Kate's heart out, stupid'wink.  Then he said add that to the scene where Ryan was asking for advice about proposing to Jenny and Castle takes the ring and says to Beckett "Will you marry me?".  "Foreshadowing mom - they will get married".  Hrm.  Well played, Baby Boy.  Well played.

Tonight we watched 'To Love and Die in LA'.  Beckett gets the white board/murder board from the hotel concierge, Maurice.  Castle says "he could get you the Ark of the Covenant if you want it".  Again, Baby Boy says "There it is again".  Ok, coincidence, I think, so I challenge him – "Ok smarty pants, where is the connection this time?".  Baby Boy thinks for a minute and says "Setup…BOOYAH!!".  (The storage unit scene - he was totally right on).

I am so epically proud of my DNA right now.

Then, as if that isn't good enough, when Beckett is taking down Ganz and his buddies, Baby Boy says "I wish Stana would arrest me".

*SIGH*  Me too, Baby Boy.  ME TOO.

Nice story Fruit Loop.  Great to hear your kids are getting into the show.

How about this for foreshadowing: Towards the end of Pretty Dead, Castle tells Alexis the following:

"Life is a journey and there is no predicting the outcome.  The only things you can control are your choices and they’ll define who you are."

Is that foreshadowing what happens with Capt. Montgomery in the finale?  Gave me goosebumps when I rewatched the episode after seeing the finale.  Then at his funeral Beckett says:

"He taught me that we are bound by our choices, but we are more than our mistakes."

"Make you a deal," she said. "I'll watch my ass, you watch the crowd." - Nikki Heat in Heat Wave Avatar by SKB

Oh Fruit Loop, this is priceless!  Boys bonding over the Beckett babe…

One more "I do"…  Beckett says that at the end of POOL…  so now they have both said it!  She also introduced herself as "Detective Kate…  Castle?" in NAIL…  So yeah, it's out there…

My kids have been slower on the uptake but while I re-watch the episodes they just *happen* to be in the room… not that they're really *watching* you understand…  they just happen to be in the same room with the TV on and *that* DVD playing…  I may get them yet…    mwwwahahahahaha…  [Image Can Not Be Found]

Keep it up, that's how I got my boys hooked!  Haha  I watch the episodes on my laptop.  My oldest got sucked in first, nosey kid that he is.  Then Baby Boy wanted in on the action.  My little girl is a bit too young for now, which irritates her to no end.  She was heartbroken the other night that I wouldn't let her watch.  "But mom!  I want to see the dead body!!".

Oh he feels exactly as threatened as he did for the many years that Gwen Stefani was my imaginary girlfriend.  Before Stana stole my heart.  lmao

That is too funny! But that's a great observation…I guess we'll all have to keep an eye out for more of this foreshadowing!

Okay, sorry if this is reviving an old-ish topic, but I just had a flash of insight this morning when I woke up!

(btw, I'm a new Castle fan, just started watching this summer, but I await S4 as eagerly as the rest of you [Image Can Not Be Found])

We know the writers like their foreshadowing… and we know DMB is going to be sticking around, at least for a little while. Something's gotta complicate Kate's reaction to Castle's declaration of love. Here's my foreshadowing theory:

Fact 1) Chet proposed to Martha, but kicked the bucket before she could tell him yes or no.

Fact 2) We know that Josh sticking around after the bomb incident was proof, to Beckett, that she was able to give him a second chance. This implies that they were possibly getting serious (as serious as you can get and still be absent half the time).

THEREFORE

Perhaps Josh proposed to Kate at some point before the finale–but she has mixed feelings, so she says "let me think about it." (parallel to Chet and Martha.) We don't see a rock on her finger, but it doesn't really seem her style to flaunt something like that anyway, the way Martha does. Then, she gets shot before she can tell him yes or no, which also prompts Castle's deathbed ILY.

I think she's going to remember it, but they're not going to talk about it right away (in typical Caskett fashion). Josh is going to come in all concerned for her, maybe even making presumptions of his own. Maybe he tells Castle they're engaged (leaving out the part where she hasn't said yes yet). Poor guy would be crushed–and then Beckett has to decide what to do with all of this when she recovers. Delicious drama, yes?

Anyway, sorry if this theory has been proposed (ha) before–I just thought I'd throw it out there!

You're playing with fire! I guess it'd make a lot of shippers sad and angry. Who knows if this happens (I already feel sorry for Castle). But we all know Josh will exit stage left anyway.[Image Can Not Be Found]

When I read what you posted Eliatra, I thought holy crap, this is a real possibility!    '[Image Can Not Be Found]'

Thing is, if this did happen, it wouldn't last long, which will help those shocked and saddened by such an event, me being one of them.  I believe Castles ILY admission, will be a revelation for their relationship and for Beckett personally, thus – putting any long term interference from DMB to rest.

Whew!  Grapes is correct in saying "You're playing with fire!", with such comments.  I would have a fire extinguisher nearby, just in case you start feeling the heat.

That's what makes it so intriguing! Josh's interference, as much as it pains us Casketteers, is too much juicy material for the writers to pass up on using. Real life is complicated, too, you have to remember. I think if Josh is really serious about their relationship (and he has hung around for a while, after all) it'd be natural for him to want to take that next step. I agree about Beckett not going with him for the long-term, though. It would be too easy for her to just wake up, tell Castle "oh hey, I love you, too!" and get on with her life, but I think they'll get there eventually.

There's plenty of heat in this show for me! [Image Can Not Be Found]

Well, Andrew Marlowe has already said that DMB would not be an impediment to Castle and Beckett this season, and that he has other things in store for them.  So, I just don't see this as any sort of real possibility.  They have used him for a full season to muck things up, and I think that if they wanted things to get "juicy" they probably would have already done so.

As far as complications or fall-out from Castle's ILY, there are so many possibilities of where they could go and what they could do with this, I'm not sure why they would want to use it to drag out DMB's storyline.  It's a bit of "been there, done that", it's time to move on.  Andrew Marlowe did say something to the effect that the relationship was going to a more mature place (I'm paraphrasing), I'm not sure that  that "mature" place will include any more interference from SO's.
