After a marathon session of watching all of the episodes that have come out so far, I noticed that any time Castle has the opportunity he sits in Beckett's chair, to include the episode in which he pretends to be a cop while waiting in her car. She always has to ask him to get out of her chair, and yet he always finds his way back into it somehow, even knowing that she's just going to make him get off of it again.
Anybody else find funny quirks about the characters' behavior?

You are right abou the quirks there. My favorite to see develop has been every time they reach the scene of a risky situation Beckett tells Castle to stay in the car. In episode one she was angry and handcuffed him in, at each episode the dialogue has lightened. One episode he says to her, Yeah we know how that worked out last time! Then after the ball she calmly says, "As a friend I am asking you to stay in the car", and in that episode he did really try to stay in the car and it was a funny scene with him telling the criminal "She told me to stay in the car." I think this is just capturing how people and relationship really do evolve and how people would really bring back up past occurrences in the conversations. This recalling of events from earlier episodes in character conversations, I think it gives the faithful viewer a tip of their hat. I enjoy the writing and the banter–it is very real and very true to each characters personality. The quirks are what adds for me an extra layer of enjoyment.

As for the chair thing—-I think it is cute! Kind of like a fight for control—the power chair! He does always give it up and even holds the chair out for her on occasion! A true gentleman!

I found their little battle of the department coffee pretty entertaining, and how beckett finally gives into the esspresso machine.

About the coffee, I love the one scene (Can't remember which episode because I just watched a bunch of them out of order) where Castle sits down beside her and puts his coffee down, and she picks up the mug in the middle of the conversation and takes a drink. He's watching as she does it and is about to say something, then just lets it pass. I love that subtle movement while they're talking, it just adds extra layers to their evolving relationship.

I agree, the show has so much subtlety which you don't always catch the first time around, its always enjoyable to watch the episodes more than once, you always miss something the time before.

Exactly! Those are the things that make you want to watch again, you look forward to seeing things that you missed the first time. I also think a lot of the credit goes to the actors there, it's a great talent to be able to pull off something like that without drawing too much attention to it and making it look natural. Is it Monday night yet? I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's episode!

Exactly! I love that little quirk! That is about as close as Castle can get to Beckett at this time, is to sit where she sits. She is his lead character in the book, perhaps he wants her perspective and so sits in her chair, as if "to be in her shoes". He goes where she goes. I loved the Hell Has No Fury episode about the politician having the affair, and Beckett is walking and talking to the political opponent, then she stops walking and Castle bumps into her. Just loved that. Yes, I love this show.

I also sit and watch several episodes at a time on my computer, and I love that scene, too, Aicha! Beckett just smiles as she takes his coffee cup, and she keeps the cup instead of putting it back on his saucer. And right, Castle watches and doesn't say anything, but sighs af if missing his coffee. How cuter if they both sipped out of the same cup!

Castle-lover54 you know, I was just watching Castle today and I thought, someone really needs to sign up with those usernames Castle was mentioning when he was trying to figure out which user Beckett was on his site LOL (You should consider registering here by the way, it's easier and has more features)

THIS IS ABOUT THE Officers that work side by side with Beckett. They seem to have been partners for a while. And they seem to be buddies too. They have to walk a fine line with Beckett yet treat Castle like the rich guy he is one moment and part of the cop family the next. Hope to see them in more scenes next season. oh yeah funny quirks… they seem to be competing for girls in some scenes.

Not sure it's a quirk, but I found it funny that Beckett was swinging her feet like a kid while she was sitting on the autopsy table.

Aicha, I didn't even notice the scene with Kate taking his mug! It gives me an excuse to see the episode again. But oh, darn, not sure which episode it's in so I guess I'll have to watch them all in order to find it .
Nalissa, I thought that was really funny too. I love how Kate isn't the frigid 1-dimensional woman cop that I've seen on TV so much. She's got little quirks that she does, with a variety of emotions and temperaments, that make her human. I really find her fascinating to watch.
One thing that I've noticed with Nathan/Rick is that sometimes, when Kate is going about her business and completely oblivious to him, he gets this very interesting look on his face like he's intently studying her. Not physically, and not just for his book, but in a way that makes me think he's really discovering her as a person and not as an object for his work. I love it. It's very subtle, and sometimes Kate will be talking away in front of him and still be completely unaware. One of these days he's going to shock her with the things he remembers about her and prove how much he's beginning to care for her–romantically or not (yet).

Wonderful! What a great observation, Luna! I'm going to watch for that more closely! I've seen it a little bit when they are in the car–she talks and he always looks at her with that "I'm in Love With You Already" but I'll wait until you are ready" look. Great couple!

Hi, Castle Administrator. Thank you for your kind words and I'll have to register. Yes, episode Little Girl Lost is exactly where I got the nickname "Castle-Lover". Thank you for this website, it is great fun to talk and share comments about Castle, Nathan Fillion (sooo handsome). BTW, where is Nathan? Is he going to be on talk shows soon, anyone know? Recently I saw Saving Private Ryan and ONLY waited for Nathan's appearance as The Other Private Ryan before moving on. He sure looks different then and pretty War-worn.

Gracias! I was having a really hard time finding pictures online, too. There really aren't any sites that have screencaps up . But I downloaded all of the episodes on iTunes, so I was able to make the avatar myself. I love Photoshop, and make my own icons and signatures for message boards that I'm on (unless I see one that I could never do myself, then I ask if I can borrow it ) . If you need any pictures to make one for yourself, I'd be happy to get some screencaps for you. I don't mind making avatars/signatures either! ;)
Also, the icon in my signature is at LiveJournal. I think the URL is http://www.community.livejourn…../castle_tv . There are a bunch of avatars there, including one like mine (I think that scene is a favorite for a bunch of us Castle fans, including me of course!)
