If you want to keep opperating under the assumption that Richard Castle wrote Heat Wave then read no further.
I've discovered the author i do believe:
The bio of Richard Castle on the dust jacket says that RC "recieved the Nom DePlume Society's prestigious Tom Straw Award for Mystery Literature"
When you google Tom Straw you get http://tomstraw.com/meettheauthor.html he has written a mystery novel as well as sitcom scripts.
Sounds like our guy huh?
And i was convinced when i realized that the picture of him on the meet the author page looks an awful lot like the guy Castle is talking to at the book launch party at 25:07 into "When the Bough Breaks" (if someone could get a screen cap of it that'd be great.) and by "looks an awful lot like" i mean it is definately him.
So unti i hear otherwise from TPTB, that's what i'm going to believe.

It thought it was so clever that Castle's counterpart in the novel is named "Rook". ;)

Awesome catch, Andrea! Detective Beckett and Castle would definitely be proud. Thanks, GreenyJess for the screencap confirmation.
Now, wouldn't it be even be better if he collaborated with Cannell and Connelly, two other mystery writers who also appeared on the show, for another Nikki Heat novel? Maybe not the second one because I assume they already have that in the works. But possibly, a third one. That would be brilliant!
