Yeah the more I think about it the more I DON'T want their first kiss to be undercover. I don't want it to be gimmicky, I want it to be real. Not "we have to kiss to keep this cover going/fool this person/make sure we aren't caught" but "we're kissing because we're attracted to each other and we want to."

I also like the elevator idea a lot.

However the writers choose to get them together or have them kiss for the first time, I just heard this song by Snow Patrol today, and I thought it would be a great back-drop for getting them together:

Here's a thought I had. What if a
verbal sparring session turned into a real sparring session? Like
Beckett challenging Castle to a duel or something…The possibilities
are endless-and hilarious. Precinct sparring, Esposito and Ryan placing bets…heh heh heh It would just be a funny filler scene…

Or fencing at Castle's…Nothing sexier than swordplay…

She opened up to Castle about how she likes having him around pulling on her pig tails; and that she would like him there when they catch the person.  It would make sense that they would kiss then and she   should be the one to make the first move on Castle.

Okay.  So, Becketts been seeing this Hot Robbery Det. guy, but realizes in episode 24, that it's Castle she wants.  She kisses Castle in the precinct elevator, he kisses back, it gets passionate so she stops it before it goes too far, but invites Castle to her new apt. for dinner.
Castle arrives at her new place, flowers and wine in hand and just as he is about to knock, the door swings open and he is looking down the barrel of a gun held by….Scott Dunn, and in the background, Kate is tied
End season!

There's such a fine line between losing your audience because the pace of the relationship has slowed (I am a mega Castle fan, but there was a point this season that I lost my obsession with the show a little when the pace of C/B's relationship seemed to slow)and jumping the gun too quickly and having the relationship become dull. OR dragging it out forever and getting stuck in dull friend territory (like Bones, in my opinion). It would be so refreshing to have a show successfully get a couple togther in stages (the different chases that abc123 mentioned) and then play out the realtionship in a fun, interesting, and exciting way. That never seems to happen on tv…it's either a slow build up and a dramatic get together and the show ends shortly thereafter or the get together messes up the chemistry. I have faith the Castle writers could do it in a new exciting way!

I won't be surprised if they play out Castle and/or Beckett with a significant other at some point though…and that will drive me crazy!

But it seems like it's too soon for Beckett to jump into a full-fledged relationship with Castle (she made it clear in the pilot that she won't be one of his conquests, and even though she trusts him as her friend and work partner and is completely attracted to him, it seems she doesn't trust him romantically yet…and she seems to be a "relationship" girl).

And being a ladies-man is part of Castle…I don't see him waiting for Beckett endlessly and continuing to get brushed off and not wanting to be with someone.

Plus, I think there is an element of them enjoying each other so much the way things are now…they banter and fight and have fun and flirt and have a great collaborative working relationship (they have gotten so much more in sync the last few episodes), that neither wants to take the risk to cross the line in case it messes everything up between them…not to mention the complications of being together and on the job together.

I can't wait to see how it plays out…I just hope they keep the developing relationsgip in the forefront!

Hi I am new here and was force to register as I cannot read your post anymore .  Thanks for all you post I really enjoyed reading then thus I was forced to register… not that I dont want to but there is not need to.  I just want to read post but here I am posting something. 

 

When I read your post about the chase, your idea might actually work.  I stopped watching bones as it seems like they are stretching things too much.  I also stopped watching Chuck for that matter.  I dont know why I lost interest maybe I can watch castle instead.  I never had this kind of linking in a show though as I watch castle any chance I have repeats and hulu and even itunes.  I even rented the dvd I would probably buy the season 2 dvd.  Anyways, back to what I want to say about the chase…  yes that is the one that makes the show interesting and maybe if they will have another kind of chase that you have mentioned then things will be a lot better.  I hope I make sense…

Haha, I don't really know where to put this, but I just thought –

If Castle and Beckett ever got married in the series, I would love their TV wedding to turn into a huge case to be solvedbefore the wedding can proceed  (i.e. priest/judge falls down dead before/during the ceremony, or the wedding coordinator is murdered, etc.). Sort of a nod to "A Rose For Everafter" but in this version, Castle ends up with the bride and Beckett is no longer a bridesmaid, lol. It could even play around with the numbers-idea someone posted before: Third time's the charm (Castle's third marraige), Seventh heaven (Beckett's being a bridesmaid 6x) but 13 is the unlucky number (maybe it could be a case about the 13-guests superstition in a dinner party, etc.) Again, another nod to another episode about Caskett ("The Third Man"). Can so imagine Martha spitting at this superstition and trying to come up with reverse-the-curse solutions!

Just imagine it — Castle in his tux and Beckett in her wedding dress interrogating suspects in the box. As Ice-posito put it: I'd rather face a thousand curses than face Beckett in the box — especially on her wedding day!

But how do we know Beckett would even be wearing the dress? After all, in "Home Is Where the Heart Stops" Beckett changes out of her red dress, to which Castle responds, "We were kinda hoping [you would wear it]." So if she changed out of her red dress, I would imagine she would change out of her wedding dress. JMO, of course.

Castle, on the other hand, would probably wear his tux the whole time. Now that would be fun!

@belle-lover haha, look at it this way; if it's unlucky to see the bride in her dress before the wedding, then think of how UNLUCKY all these suspects will be to be on the receiving end of her whiplash/bouquet.

Ooh, or Beckett could have been forced to wear some ancient wedding dress (heirloom of Martha's mother, etc) which so doesn't suit her style but she can't refuse it. And then because of the murder, Beckett has no time to change out of it and so does all her policing in it — interrogating, chasing, and eventual nabbing of runaway murderer (imagine white high heel stepping on criminal's hand, and Beckett saying to Castle, "I caught a single guy!").

Beckett now has to change out of the ancient dress, and teases Castle that she has something better in mind, something she once saw in a bridal magazine (lol, another nod to A Rose For Everafter).

Wedding proceeds, church doors open, and we see Castle turn to see Beckett. The "WOW!" is written all over his face. Cut to black. And BAM! End of season 3, teaser for season 4!!

Starbeeper……I like it.  However, Martha is quite stylish.  I would love to raid her closet.  So I'm thinking she would have Beckett looking fierce in that ancient dress.
