"a relative unknown!?" well not too happy about that comment but I do agree about the them getting together part. Personally I think the show would have a clearly better element with a relationship. And the problems that arise with a working relationship mixed with a personal relation. in short check out my last post on here haha!
Well, the truth is that in Hollywood terms Stana is a "relative unknown" because until now she didn't played THE MAIN character in anything. It's definitely changing now, because "Castle" is more and more popular and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an Emmy nomination for Stana next year and also for a success of her upcoming movie "Truth about Kerry", in which she stars.

Nope, she's 31. We've had this discussion on Stana's age in another thread and rvandising found an article from the local newspaper in Aurora in which there was mentioned that Stana moved there with her parents in 1979 when she was just one year old. She was born in 1978.

This was posted on TWOP, couldn't find the link. I thought the comments were spot on though. Why does the 'play' have to stop if C/B kissed or started dating? I think the show could be stronger if written correctly.
ABC's "Castle" is the most delightful TV series. I'm curious about leads Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic.
Sandra Martin, Hayward, Calif.
It's the chemistry between Fillion, 38, a TV and movie vet, and Katic, 31, a relative unknown, that makes "Castle" so delightful. And she tells us it's owed to clever writing and her co-star's charm: "He makes it easy to bounce things back and forth." Chemistry leads to questions about putting the characters together; Katic, who's single, can see both sides, "but, I wonder, why is there this myth that once people get together, there isn't play anymore? … People are married and still have wonderful relationships."
A little blurb about Castle from USA Today. Not much, but since some of us are big fans of moving the relationship forward, I thought it was nice that Stana Katic mentioned what has been mentioned here several times.

i wouldn't take that comment too seriously. in hollywood, everyone is a "relative unknown" until you can literally walk down the street and ask anyone "do you know who so-and-so is" and have everyone know.

Well it wasn't so much the fact of calling her a relitive unknown as the fact of saying that Nathan wasn't and she was. Frankly the only thing I have seen Nathan in and don't feel like I am missing anything…I saw Stana for the first time and automaticly looked her up needing to find more things she was in!

I guess I just got annoyed with them saying Nathan was better known…I feel like I am repeating myself haha cuz you both said the same thing…and I get where you are comming from but it was really annoying I don't see anything great about Nathan sure he's a good actor but I have no need to see other stuff he is in like i had with Stana!

Thing is, Nathan has been around for years and has been a star/co-star in multiple TV shows which makes him "known" in the industry. Yes, Stana is known to many people and has many fans, but as far as starring in a TV show, this is her first time. That's all the comment meant.

i can totally understand what you're saying…i'm right there with you. it annoys me when he seems to get all the credit and praise and they act like stana is just…whatever. honestly, when anyone ever asks me what the show is about i always begin with kate and go from there. i somtimes completely forget that castle (being the title character) is supposed to be the main character. and it's such a shame, really, because i don't think he outshines her in any way. he's funny and all, but i always find myself laughing more at her reaction than to his actual joke.

I get the laughing at her reaction that is why what he says is funny because of her reaction it really has nothing to do with him. Ditto on the starting with Kate. there could be a show without him I mean there are crime shows all over with just detectives or some form of law enforcement but a show about a writer…? don't see it lol! While it is callled Castle I started watching in the first place because of Stana and continued watching because I relate to the Character Beckett. To me his lines are funny at the time (mostly cause of her) but her lines are what I find myself remembering and repeating.

OK first of all Nathan is better known, its a fact simple as that, he's been acting professionally since 1993. They are NOT having a go at Stana just stating a fact. Everyone has to start out somewhere.
I personally don't see anything great about Stana, yer she's pretty enough but I have no interest in seeing anything else she's in. I watch the show for Nathan and I make no apology for that fact. Its just a difference of opinion but it takes ALL of them to make the show.

you make a very valid point. i mean we all have our favourites, but ultimately, the show would not still be on the air if not for all the actors present. it's the combination of them all that makes for a success not just one individual.
but stana is my personal favourite.

OfflineI'll give the cop out (but honest!) answer and say that I like both of them for totally different reasons and I think they both bring a lot to the table.
So diplomatic. lol

I agree! The show wouldn't be the same without either one of them! Nathan and Stana are both talented (and good-looking!) and have their own merits. They each bring something different to the show, and I really couldn't see anyone else playing their parts.
This isn't the place to debate Stana vs. Nathan (well, I don't think there really has to be winner, can't we just say "yay, everyone!" ?), so let's keep the the topic… "How should Rick & Kate get together?"
As the saying goes, "slow and steady wins the race." Let's see some juicy stuff, but don't get too carried away so quickly… I'd hate for them to just fall into bed. So clichéd! I know our writers could come up with something much better
Castle = Awesomesauce. The end.
