I do not like dark / noir cinematography in new season of Castle

Have you noticed that Castle's new  episodes use very low light – especially in all the indoor shoots? I like the bright lighting. Mentalist has also switched to this "low lighting" mode from this season.

You are so right I have adjusted my tv some just to See what is going on. Why on earth did they decide to film this way it makes me feel disconnect from the show sometimes. Last nights show was ok but cuffed I could hardly see the scenes.

I'm curious if you've tried watching it online via Hulu or ABC to see if you have the same issues with the lighting?

Well, I happen to like the darker cinematography. This, combined with a lot of closer shots and tight framing, gives many of the scenes a more intimate feeling. But that's a matter of individual taste.

I've only noticed that in Cuffed (and found it quite annoying) but I have brightened the color on my tv anyway because so many shows are filmed too darkly for me. I'd switch to HD but then you can't fast-forward the commercials, no thanks.

In general I like the very filmish way they handle the production of Castle.  Cuffed as a specific episode was too dark.  There were reasons why all those scenes in the "basement" were dark, but when it makes it that hard to actually see the acting it is an issue.
