After the mega success Heat Wave got, ABC might be ready for another bestseller by Richard Castle. Look what I found on TV Guide!
I just finished Heat Wave, and I wonder if there will be other books inspired by Castle? — Holt
ADAM: Series creator Andrew W. Marlowe tells me that's exactly the plan. As with Heat Wave, the writing of Castle's latest book will become integral to the show. Look for him to start working on it in the second part of Season 2. "When the second book comes out, it will contain moments that are familiar to our loyal viewers," Marlowe says. "Richard Castle will be talking about the writing process in the back nine [episodes]. There will be moments where he references what he's working on in the book, and we hope to tie it all together. It's been an exciting component to the show, and the fans have really responded to it."

Yes!! Music to my ears. I figured it was just a matter of time after the success of Heat Wave but it's nice to get a little bit of confirmation.

YES!! Hehe, I second that, sarah! Hopefully it'll be longer than "Heat Wave"
I'm curious about the title! "In Heat", "Summer Heat", "Can't Take the Heat"?
I'm glad they've decided to continue the series, it's just too good of an opportunity to pass up!
Plus it makes for some happy fans

I hope it isn't "In Heat".
As hilarious as that is to me, I wouldn't want to even have to explain why I was reading a book called "In Heat".

LMAO "Heat of the Night" could be hilarious. As if Nikki Heat isn't enough of a stripper name, nothing like a stripper name and a title that sounds like he's profiling a prostitute to mess with Beckett just a little more.

Wow, I think we should have a "contest" to name the next Nikki Heat novel and send it to Rick Castle!!! Hmmm, I like the ideas mentioned so far (although I'm thinking "In Heat" sounds a little less than PG!?!?!?!). As a "murder mystery concept" Body Heat sounds about right, though a longer, more descriptive title might be worth consideration. How about: Heat Seeking Missile LOL!!!!
