I whole-heartedly agree.  She or Janet Evanovich or anyone, really, should have been included.  There may as well have not been a woman there at all.

I have to put my vote in for Patricia Cornwell.  She is a former ME, a Lawyer and writes one of the best, in my opinion, female cop type book series featuring a woman- the  Kay Scarpetta series. She has also written a true crime novel investigating Jack the Ripper. Plus I think she would be an interesting challenge for Castle.
