OfflineExcuse me for asking, but after this spellbinding finale, what more do the cast and crew need to do to get the justified reward and recognition for their sterling efforts?
How does award season work? Is is based on number of viewers, who votes etc?
Because seriously, each of them, from the writers, directors, actors, all deserve something for this amazing series.
Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion can leave you breathless with their performances. The rest of the cast bring their best game is a short amount of time per episode.
Just curious because it would be a travesty if no recognition and public acknowledgement was forthcoming for this scintillating series.
Just asking?…

OfflineHello Wish & Nike: Although Nike's response to Wish's question was short and sweet, it was very accurate. "Castle" is certainly not a sitcom: it shouldn't be competing with "30 Rock", How I Met Your Mother, "The Office" Two and a Half Men", and "Modern Family". As it is written, directed, and acted, I would describe "Castle" as a "light" drama. It is more about the characters and their relationships, than the murder plot. This emphasis on character is why it can't be described as a "procedural". Those show types (CSI, L&O, Criminal Minds) depend on the intricate plotting of the script, and provide little or no character development. "Bones" is the same type of show as "Castle". These series are usually very popular with audiences, but receive little or no industry recognition, i.e. Emmy awards. The last individuals I remember from "light" dramas winning Emmy's were James Garner & Lindsay Wagner in the mid-late 1970s. It just doesn't happen often for shows like "Castle" and "Bones". Like you, I also wish that things could be different. best regards, Madelow.

Agreed. Best ensemble or something all inclusive of their talents
Sorry I meant to paste this link of other awards Castle has been nominated for.

OfflineHello Wish & Lv2: Yes, the Emmy Awards do reward all of those individual categories (for a single episode). Series used to be allowed to submit up to three episodes for consideration in those technical categories (non-performance, if you will). Don't know if that still holds true today, or not. I would think that the season finale has many areas worthy of Emmy consideration. It will be interesting to see how "Castle" fares when the nominees are announced. Best regards, Madelow.

I think it needs to be either full blown drama or a full comedy – "Castle" is a perfect mix and therefore not serious enough for the drama and not just funny enough for the comedy.
As the whole yes, but if you take particular episodes, like "Knockdown" and "Knockout", they're 1000000% DRAMA. Let's hope EMMY acadamy is going to look at them this way…

Not only us hopes that Castle particularly Stana deserve and EMMY for their performances. If you guys have read some reviews, even the press thinks she deserve an award…
Fingers crossed EMMY academy is not going to ignore press' opinion [Image Can Not Be Found]

OfflineI've seen a number of critics who think Stana, if nobody else on the show, should be given an Emmy for her amazing performances this year. I also think Will Beall deserves a writing Emmy for that finale or for any of his previous episodes.
I see everyone's point about Castle not fitting into the typical drama and comedy categories, but The West Wing was also a drama with comedic overtones and it won numerous Emmys. Who knows. I guess we'll just have to see what happens. Though, I confess, as many shows that have won Emmys in the past go off the air, I get more and more excited that Castle's time is coming.

OfflineWhat I find interesting in the greater scheme of things, is that the Castle Team took an actor with very varied acting background, and an almost unknown acress, to hold the show together for a season and then hopefully get picked up for subsequent series.
They must have incredible intuition to have known that these 2 leads, would become the most incredibly engaging and magnetic couple in a long time. Stana Katic is riveting and the camera absolutley loves her. As for Nathan Fillion. He has a charm and comic timing that actors who have been in the game for years, will never have. He outshines them by far. His lovely face and screen presence just add to the lovely mix.
This pairing alone, and the fact that season 3 has just ended with a promise of a 4th, means they are doing something incredibly right, and they all deserve to be rewarded for this, with an award of sorts.

OfflineYes! I am so glad that I am not the only person who feels that "Castle" deserves some serious recognition. I mean come on, what more does this show have to do to prove how amazing it is to get an award? From the great writers, directors, and great acting done by a phenominal cast, and an over all top notch crew behind the scenes.
Further more, I strongly agree with others out there who say Stana Katic needs to get nominated for an EMMY for her performance this season. Her acting alone in the hanger scene in the finale is just superb and how can anyone not see the tremendous tallent that this woman has? She needs to be nominated for an Emmy in the best actress category.
I know that there are so many talented women who are nominated in this category year after year, Glen Close, Marishka Hargitay, Edie Falco, Julinanna Margulies, just to name a few. But really, how awsome would it be to see Stana go up against them for this title! I honsetly began watching Castle because of Nathan Fillion but was drawn in by Stana Katic and her ability to play Kate Beckett so well every single time.
Am I biased because I really like this show? You bet! I wish the Emmy commity knew what we as Castle fans know to be true, that Castle is one of the best shows on television right now and it is high time the show got some gosh darn attention.
I dont know how shows get nominated or how the Emmy committy even nominates shows, or when this begins but this needs to happen. Castle is too good to be looked over because it isn't in a specific category, so lets get some buzz going and get this movement started.
