ABC Nixes Sunday Night Telecast Plans for Castle

James Hibberd reports that with all the buzz for the latest cycle of Dancing With the Stars is getting, ABC has decided to scrap the plans to air the first part of a two part Castle out on Sunday March 21 at 10pm following Desperate Housewives.
The two part episode will instead air Monday on March 22, and March 29 at 10pm.
Will Kate Gosselin, Buzz Aldrin, Chad Ochocinco, Erin Andrews and the rest of the Dancing With the Stars contestants be good for Castle? We won’t have to wait long to find out.

Oh, no, that means we have to wait a week between the two parts? That wait is going to be, by far, worse than the hiatus.

It's a bummer on one hand but it's good for a couple other reasons too. It helps carry us into May with one less repeat in between and it's clear that ABC believes it'll get more attention behind DWTS rather than DH.

But yes, emphasis on the positive.
Means our season is one week longer. Anything to put off the agony that is summer hiatus…

But one week will be so long, you know it's gonna be a cliffhanger that is going to drive us insane!!
I know it wont make a difference, but I'm going to hop over to abc.com and drop them an email and express my unhappiness.

This is clearly a good thing. 
At least we know what the cliffhanger will be and know the outcome, though the wait will greatly suck.

The subject won't change though, right? If Dana Delaney is still in the show, it might still pull in DH viewers who see the promos run during DH. I see this as kind of a double-dip (in a good way). Yeah, it would have been cool to do the two-day event (given the "Tick, tick tick… Boom!" titles), but I can see the viewership increasing after this move. DWTS has proven to be a powerful lead-in.

I like that it means one less repeat, I just think it's strange to change things kinda last minute. But I guess they had to see the response to the new DWTS cast.
Selfishly, this is awesome for me. I am out of the country for Tick and I get back the day before Boom, so I'll be able to watch them back to back. But I have to wait 3 weeks! Another hiatus for me
And after the promo tonight, I'm dying to see it!

I agree. 3 weeks until the conclusion episode sucks. Laurie Zaks just posted an article about it and said that it is actually good for Castle because Castle is standing on it's own, which is great, but for those of us who are terribly impatient, it's still seems like a long wait. I just want to see Beckett staying at Castle's pad, but it's weeks away. Sigh. It's just preparation for the cliffhanger that they will likely use to torture us all summer.
