At the end of tonight's episode (during the blurb for next week's show), I thought I heard the voiceover guy say something about kicking off Castle's "summer season".

 

Does that mean that there will be new episodes during the summer, too?  Or does the "summer season" consist of reruns?

It would appear that IMDB lists one more episode in season 2, and then they have season 3 listed as starting in September (which I wouldn't complain about, I'm just happy to see a 3rd season, whenever it may come).   I'm just curious.

maybe there will be a "castle sing-along/musical" that stana jokingly said she wanted to do when interviewed at the paley event as  summer special?  LOL Bounce

last year, the summer season consisted of WriteRCastle tweeting about his adventure in the Hamptons, and a new chapter of Heat Wave each week on abc.com (chapters 1 through 10). I'm hoping for more of the same this summer, with new adventures from WriteRCastle and a preview of Naked Heat. Would be fun if Alexis got on twitter too.

I wish I knew how to quit you.

I hope they do post chapters of Naked Heat like they did Heat Wave during the summer. It will be a long summer without it. I'd watch re-runs too. Anything to get me through the long hot summer. It is part of my OCD coming through…I have to have my Castle fix.Bounce2

I'm fairly sure they're just referring to the repeats but I'll clarify if I hear differently

I never knew that they posted chapters of Nikki Heat over the summer! In that case, I really hope that they post the first ten for Naked Heat too!

I agree with Admin, I would imagine the summer season would just consist of Castle reruns. After all, we have the cast leaving to work on other projects during the hiatus, so unless something special has already been planned and worked on, I think it's reruns.

We didn't even have repeats last summer, did we?  Is it too much to ask for Monday and Saturday repeats?

last summer there was only 10 episodes to season 1, so i'm guessing abc didn't think there was enough to air repeats. but now with 24 season 2 episodes, they might have enough to rerun from beginning to end for this summer perhaps?

Here in my country, Castle will air its 24th (season 2) episode in mid August,  enough to set my mood for season 3….Bounce2

Yes, there were repeats during the break between seasons 1 & 2 – they aired on Saturdays – which appears to be how things are moving this time – after the finale we have 2 out of three weeks that will have Saturday repeats – details on the Schedule page.
