ConfusedI'm so out of sync with all the newer things like Facebook, Twitter, etc. – but do I understand that Twitter is a way that people can post messages to someone like Nathan Fillion and he posts back?  How does it work – or am I asking too much?  Wish I were more aware about these things

Occasionally Nathan will respond to someone's post on Twitter but it's really only a few out of thousands of messages he post and it seems totally random as to what he'll respond to.

I expect it is random because he probably reads various incoming stuff at random. I imagine he gets thousands of messages a day. I know I wouldn't be able to keep up with that if it were me, and would scan so fast something would have to pop out in some way for me to respond…
