Offlinewell he's rich enough to give himself the freedom that he wants in his life. That's all that really matters.
If you're talking real dollars, it's a lot, but not over the top a lot. I'm guessing less for all of his works than what Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie makes for starring in two films.
Ok Ok, dollars it is. My guess is $25 – $35,000,000 for all of his books and now the Heat Wave movie.

Offlineof all the things to buy, I thought that the property on the moon was going to be an inexpensive purchase (like naming a star after someone and having it registered with the star registry).
So you too can buy property on the moon for under $20 USD per acre! Here's how ..

OfflineWell, he's written two dozen best sellers. I would say do a google search on James Patterson or Steven King's net worth. Forbes has Patterson bringing in 2.2 billion in revenue to his publisher and with a net worth of $150 million. Obviously Castle has been writing much less since Beckett (only 2 books so far), while Patterson did the Twilight series and would put out a dozen books a year. So I'd guestimate his worth at 10 – 15 million with his publishing revenue 3 times that.
It really makes you realize how incredibly grounded the writers have placed Alexis. She has strong relationships with her peers, works hard, doesn't act elitist or like a snob. She isn't obsessed with material things… she's a refreshingly wholesome child considering her surroundings. I think she's the one person who really knows the difference between Castle's private and public persona, something Beckett hasn't really even figured out completely. I'd still love to see Alexis set Beckett on the right path. "Out of the mouth of babes"…

He seems to spend money like water, buying the old haunt, expensive cars and property on the moon etc. Any thoughts on his net worth.
I don't think he spends that much money. What do we know Castle has spent larger sums of money on?
The Old Haunt – went for $150 thousand but after the murder, etc, I guess it was a lot cheaper to pick up.
The generous donation to the Widows & Orphans Fund to pay for the bottle of Whiskey (unspecified)
The Ferrari (although we do not know for how long he's had that one)
Investment opportunity in independent movie to get Meredith back to LA (unspecified)
Dropping $40 000 (DVD subtitles say $20 000) at a poker table and not being able to collect sustential winnings
The $100 thousand to help get JB's killer in Sucker Punch (was that retrieved after Beckett shot the guy?)
But we also know that for writing three more books the paycheck will be enormous, even by Castle's standard, much more than a lot of his books put together ("For that money I write a dozen Nikki Heat's")
I wouldn't want to put a figure on it but I guess Castle's pretty well off to say the least with the bulk of his fortune securely invested and making even more money while he sleeps and a bit of pocket change in his accounts for his everyday spending and the little things in life he likes so much.
Martha: Freud was an addict but that didn’t stop him from helping people. Castle: Sadly, faced with his monther’s twisted, yet unimpeachable logic, Richard Castle’s head exploded.
