OfflineI like the characters of Castle and Beckett.
I like the chemistry between Castle and Beckett.
I like the family relationships between Castle and Martha and Alexis.
I enjoy the humor, how the show doesn't take itself too seriously.
I like the fact that it is currently on the air.
I like the fact that it has already had more than one season.
I like that it's fans are so enthusiastic.
I like the mystery surrounding Beckett's mother and Castle's father.
I like that it is not just a cop procedural.
That's all I can think of right now. I am still waiting for season one to arrive in the mail. Sp far have only seen about five or six season two episodes. Looking forward to getting caught up.

I have to definitely agree on the fact that it's nice to have such enthusiastic fans who love Castle. The show is full of tremendous actors, actresses, script writers, stylists, etc. I think the show is great to have such an awesome team. And the writing is fantastic.
Great to have you on the forums with us. You'll love the season one extras when it arrives in the mail.

Those are pretty much the same reasons why I really enjoy the show!
And since I've only started watching recently I don't know anything about Castle's father. Man!!! I can't wait to get season one on dvd and catch up!

Besides all your reasons, newcastlefan, I like
- the incredibly strong acting of Nathan and Stana
- also the strong supporting acting by the rest of the main cast (a shout-out to Molly, Tamala, and Ruben)
- the great guest casts and their contributions to each episode's strength
- the imaginative writing/directing of the episodes
- the interesting/varied crime story-lines (committed to never repeating them)
- the creative vision and leadship of Marlowe and Bowman (I trust them to keep us guessing and entertained.)
- the back-story developments of Beckett/Castle and others
- how the writers bring in references to pop-culture and previous episodes
- the fabulous dialogue, one-liners
- the pace of the show, pulls me in and pulls me along
- the mult-media/culture way the show is spread, from the Nikki Heat novels, episodes with pop music/video, comic book art, video-casts (Fool Me Twice), vampires, S/M, top ten lists, I could go on and on (and apparently have!)
- how Castle appeals to varied viewers who like the riveting drama, hilarious comedy, superb acting, interesting cases…there's something for almost everyone! (The producers sure know how to grow their fan base.)

OfflineAll of the above.
I live in the UK and only found Castle around Christmas 2009. I was pretty much addicted from the first episode, first because of Fillion (i'm a big fan of Firefly, etc.) and then because of Katic and the rest of the cast.
Castle is some of the best entertainment i've ever watched. I might been having issues with ep21 and possibly ep22 ('Tom-plot' smells like bad fanfiction to me.) but the writing team of Castle have a massive store of respect built up with me, so i'm willing to ignore this 'relationship angst-fest' they've introduced and, hopefully, by Season 3, get back to what drew me to Castle in the first place….
..meanwhile, i'm going to go watch season 1 (some of the best TV ever) again until we get there.

OfflineI love the chemistry between Castle and Beckett. I definitely love how they portray every role in every scene. THEY ARE VERY GOOD ACTORS. I also love the casting I mean everybody fits to the role. I'm so happy that they are not that cop-ish but they still show the sense of authority and responsibility upon them. Well, that's what I love SO FAR.

OfflineI love the "will they or won't they" dynamic between Beckett & Castle too.
But I must say, what I love THE MOST about the show is that it tops itself every week. I really didn't think they could do much better than Sucker Punch, but then they did that awesome two-parter, which I really didn't think they could top – then they did with Den of Thieves. I just cannot get over it.

i totally agree Nev!!! and i LOVE that the whole cast just has fun and that's the energy it brings to the show and on screen!!!! in some shows, the actors are just there, and it gives the show a kinda gloomy vibe, but not Castle! it's allways alive!

OfflineAgreed castlelover. I think it shows through that all the cast really gets along and enjoys being with each other on set. As Stana said once, true chemistry is hard to fake and the chemistry between the entire cast comes through every week. As much as I love the actors and actresses and writers, I think the casting department deserves a good amount of credit – they're the ones who brought this awesome bumch together!

Yes MathGuy! That is one of my favorite things about the show also! I'm a HUGE fan of continuity and throwbacks to previous episodes! It shows that the writers are actually paying attention and it makes all the hard core fans, who remember what has happened, super happy. I also really enjoy references to pop culture it just makes shows seem so much smarter…and it also makes the viewers feel smarter if they get the reference. So, win win!
Another thing I really like about Castle is what Andrew Marlowe has said about wanting to create a procedural that is much more character driven than all the others on tv. Because, to me anyway, straight procedurals that focus mostly on cases, lack the pull of identifying with the characters and really investing in the show, which brings veiwers back. Complete dramas, that are almost completely character driven storylines on the other hand, usually end up becoming really soapy just because in order to have enough drama every episode to keep it interesting, they must pull some pretty whacky stuff. But not "Castle!" Just enough case to not have too much drama and just enough character to not get bored!
The other thing I really like about "Castle" is the depth of the characters. They are slowly being unfolded and understood better and they are not simply one sided. You buy it when the begin to evolve also. Not to hate on "Bones" or anything, but sometimes I feel like Booth and Brennan are so stuck in their personas that it makes them very one dimensional and quite shallow. "Castle" does a really good job of making multi-faceted people who seem real. I really like the quote from "The Mistress Always Spanks Twice" where Kate says to the dominatrix, "you and I both know that people aren't that simple." It's so ture! People are complex and have many different sides, depending on their situation. This show does great at capturing that!

OfflineI think the fact the show isn't just about Castle and Beckett is what also makes it so great.
There's Martha, finding her love from high school, scared to give love another chance.
Alexis, feeling comfortable enough to go to Beckett for advise and Beckett making Castle squirm over it.
Montgomery, a case from his past coming back to him again, and how his team help him.
Esposito, helping an old partner, with the help of his current partner and his other "partner" Castle. Beckett and the other, covering for Esposito and the Captain understanding why.
Lanie, watching Castle and Beckett, and knowing that her friend loves the man.
What part of any of this could anyone not love? It's part of what keeps us all coming back each week.
You should kiss that girl while you are both young.

OfflineI watched the first time for Nathan… crossing my fingers. Then I saw Castle come home to Alexis, do the baby bird bit, speak a little French and push her down the hall in the sweetest father/daughter moment I have seen on TV. Totally hooked. Since then, I have rarely been disappointed in the writing and never in the acting. The rest of the cast is just too good. Torn between seeing more of them and our leads! This world needs more smart, witty, clever shows, (which are not mean-spiritted) And then there is Fillion.
Nuff said.

I couldn't agree more. A lot of shows and movies try to be "current" and fail miserably, but it seems to come naturally in Castle.
I also love the relationship between Alexis and Castle. When I first started watching the show, I actually didn't like the idea of him having a daughter, but now I realize how much it adds to his character.
