I prefer the bar where they first met, and please let it be next season and not later.

They've been dating for three years. I say they should go to the Hamptons for a first real date, especially since it still has a bit of the sadness from last season where she didn't wind up going. It's romantic and quiet, especially in the off season.

Wow plenty of replies, I like the motorbike ride idea. If i was Castle I'd totally take advantage.

I can just imagine Castle saying "Kate, I'm afraid, I just have to hold you tighter." lol.

Maybe they should go to the park for a picnic. I don't think she'd be impress if he took her to Paris for dinner. But that might be fun.

Not Drago's – remember Beckett saying the portions were too small? I say for a first date they would want to do something very private and away from everyone.  We know that Cast;e likes to do things big – and Beckett maybe not too much.  Although, publicity aside I think her and her real character both have a little bad girl daredevil aspect. Maybe he takes her to Coney Island?  There is a GREAT fanfic out there that has him taking her to a baseball game, complete with a visit to the managers box and to the locker rooms.  (Remember she's a fan from the episode with the murdered Cuban ball player?)  To me he would plan a first date that had everything to do with her, and nothing to do with him.  I also think that this "first date" would be well past the start of their relationship  because I don't think that best friends would need a first "date" after so many years.

For everyone out there who thinks it is ridiculous that they still have been dancing around each other without being together in a romantic way – go back and watch the episodes again in order.  Season one and most of two did not have Cast;e in a position to be in a one and done relationship with her.  All his flirting and innuendos were just fun and games to him.  Sure he was interested, but not deadly serious.  His interest in her changed mid-season3.  That in mind, the three year friendship without benefits is not too impossibly long.  But as with Bones, if they push it to the 100th episode and we end season 4 with them still not in a relationship, then it starts to fall flat (or really bitter)…  I want to see them in a Thin Man type relationship by Season 5 – because I think they can pull it off and IT WILL BE AWESOME!  So season 4 needs to create and complete their relationship so we can build a season in a year that gives us something truly original and super fun.  And i think that if the writers take the risk and pull this off, then the ' will have to create new categories!

Castle likes to do things big yes, but he knows that isn't Beckett's thing.  So maybe he rents out a local restaurant that is small and quaint, but really good food (in proper portions), really nice romantic atmosphere, and off in the corner is a piano man, playing a bit of soft jazz.  They both turn off their phones, and make a point of just spending quality time together and just talk.  Not necessarily about anything in depth, but just talk about anything and everything, maybe touch on a couple personal issues, like when they each first realized they were in love with each other.  At some point, they leave and go to the beach, take a walk, eventually finding themselves sitting together on the beach watching the sun come up, not saying a word.

On another note: Just wanted to say hi to lv2bnsb.  I use to live there.  Is a really great town, and I miss it.  Still have friends there, but haven't been able to get back since I moved.  Don't miss the fire seasons tho.
