I enjoy watching the dance as well. But I could see something to the extent of them investigating a crime scene and somehow someone with a gun still at the scene armed and dangerous and Castle taking the bullet in order to protect Beckett, not dying of course but keeping her from harm. That way he could show indirectly that he cares for her. Then at his hospital bed Beckett could have the alone time they need about to give him a kiss as thanks for saving her and right before they do they get interrupted by someone walking in. Lol can’t have them kiss though would ruin the dance.

After seeing Castle hop to his feet after hearing that the punch was spiked at that party and how much he cares for his daughter I could defiantly see him making some self sacrificing move to protect Beckett. :) That’s just my opinion.Read

I totally agree about his trying to protect Beckett and getting hurt while doing it.

Becklers do it with the beckle on.

What sort of patient do you think Rick would be?

I think he'd be a total handfull and I'm quite sure as he was getting better everyone would want shoot him.

Let me tell you something about crazy people. The sex is unbelievable.

I totally see it the other way around.  I could see Beckett getting hurt because of Castle not staying behind like she told him to… or him getting himself into a scrape that she has to come and rescue him from (like the Russian mob poker game).   I can't see Castle being anywhere near that heroic.

The longer they draw out the romance, the longer the show will run. That, I think, is the bottom line.

I'm a huge fan of the 80s show "Who's The Boss?", and that show just about holds the record for an unconsumated relationship. And after waiting 7 almost painfully-long seasons and 175 grueling episodes for Tony and Angela to get together, we didn't even get to see a wedding. But the show was a Nielsen top ten every season, and it's still considered one of the best tv romances. Those of us who are devout fans have learned what it means to appreciate the subtleties of a relationship.

Shows from "Moonlighting" to "Lois and Clark" all had the same problem. Once that tension was broken, rating plummeted. Even "Buffy" and "Friends" ran into ratings trouble when the tension was gone — which is why Ross and Rachel spent most of the show's 10-year run apart. Check out this article to see what I mean: http://www.post-gazette.com/tv…..2owen7.asp

Personally, I live for the stolen glances and the awkward moments, for the will they or won't they moments. I hope we don't even see a Castle/Beckett kiss until the end of this season. I thought the handshake was wonderfully appropriate and was further proof of their attraction. They are so unsure of themselves around each other and are so self-conscious that they woudn't even hug! That's the makings of a great romance! We need to see these characters grow as individuals and then discover what they can have together. By my calculations, that should take a good four or five seasons.

You do make a good case however, Castle isn't a huge success just yet.  A third season is not guaranteed.  So far we've seen their relationship grow stronger as each episode progresses.  The season fanale for season 2 is where I want to see a huge progress forward.  Why, cause it might be the last time we see a Castle and Beckett.   I am being pessimistic.  With the way some of these studios cancel shows I have to be.

You know, I actually disagree that a couple finally getting together is what causes ratings to plummet. And frankly, Moonlighting had some other problems rather than just getting a couple together. That far oversimplifies things imho.

IMHO, it takes talent to get a couple together and keep it interesting. It is based on more than just sex/sexual chemistry which is something that the writers have already mastered with Castle and Beckett. The personalities is what makes them work. Beckett isn't afraid to call Castle on his crap and he isn't afraid to put his two cents out there. This could continue if they dated, kissed, whatever IMHO. If we get say, 5 seasons or more and they did get married, I think they could still have that amazing dynamic in trying to keep their personal life and work seperate. At work, I can see Beckett treating him as she always has. The stolen moments, that kind of thing could keep people interested.

I personally don't enjoy watching sexual tension play out for years. There is no reward, no payback and will they/won't they just gets old. Mulder and Scully were like this on the X Files and I simply stopped caring and stopped watching. There is a fine line between watching a relationship based on only sex and watching more than just a handshake. And honestly, I want to see Castle/Beckett together sooner rather than later because as much as I personally adore this show, unless ratings get better, a 5-10 year run isn't realistic IMHO.

Agree. Although you never know, Rick may surprise us all… But it's definitely more probable that it would be Beckett who would get hurt.

Although, Castle could be the one who gets hurt because of the reasons previously stated… Either one of them could get hurt, just not because of Castle being a hero.

This too. But thinking about it, I'd like to see Beckett even seriously wounded, so we could see Castle expressing his feelings towards her after realizing that he might loose her.

While Beckett being seriously wounded is a total tv cliche, I admit, I like it. She has such a tough exterior as well that I think seeing her vulnerable in that way could be quite interesting to watch as well as interesting to see Castle's reaction.

Although Beckett getting hurt would be a total cliche, they could do it up right. I mean, she wears a bullet proof vest, so instead of her, let's say actually getting shot and injured from the bullet, Castle witnesses her getting shot where she is still protected by the vest. I think he would freak out. And, since getting shot while wearing those vests still hurts, it would give us the tyoe of moment/s that we're talking about.

Becklers do it with the beckle on.

Maybe Beckett could like be in the hospital for a few days and Castle could take care of her something or another idea what if she went into a coma and once she came out of it Castle could explain his feelings for her ok maybe a little too cliche.

Unless something changes, I can't see KB even allowing Castle to actually "care" for her or mend her back to health. As it is, I tend to think that at least for a while, that is one of the last things she would want or agree to. She likes him but I think that level of intimacy would scare the crap out of her. lol

LOL Beckle? I like Caskett, cause they have to deal with dead people on a daily basis! Then again, I don't like change. I'm used to Caskett Cool

Yeah, the "Beckett is wounded and Castle will nurse her back to health" thing is extremely clichéd… I'd like to give the writers a bit more credit and hope they could come up with something better! Bounce2

I like it that Beckett's tough and stuff, seeing her be the "damel in distress" would not only be total character assassination (Hello, she's a BAMF!), but also extremely lame on the writers' part! Although we know Castle can shoot a gun if he has to, lol. I could see Kate being particularly disturbed about the brutality of a case or something, though. Wonder how that'd go.

Sara-darling- sorry to say but us men make a mess of things and we do not even know it.

yoojoo – Beckle just sounds so 'cute' like the two of them.

Ashley_slomo – your ideas rock…I agree about Castle needed to use a gun in some way and maybe get in trouble at a scene/raid but rescue Beckett in the line of duty. That way she will finally respect him like the other detectives and maybe that will flow into her personal life. (Castle shot like he was a marksman)

The viewer is keenly aware of RIck's feelings for Kate.  I think the viewer needs something to cause us to see or know Kate's feelings other than glances and stares as he walks away.  A situation where Rick gets hurt could really bring out her deeply buried feelings.  THen when the city wants to pull RIck out of the ride along due to injury Kate goes to bat and finally fights to keep him with her.  Shocking everyone including herself……..

I realize this is fiction/fantasy, but this relationship really needs a push in some direction.  they could be put in a dangerous situation together – ie – hostages, stuck somewhere for a time, one of them wounded, etc.  There are endless ways to get them to reveal their feelings to each other and the viewers.  We don't want them to go to page 105 just yet, mind you, but the UST can only go on for so long before either the viewers or the characters get bored.  The show directors and storytellers could take a few more risks at this point and give us a really exciting episode.  Need some more cherries moments too.

really looking forward to next epidsode with this secret thing between Alexis and Kate.  hmmmmm…
