OfflineI think it should be Beckett. Since she's indenial of her and Castle ever getting together and also denies feeling something like jealousy when she talks with Lanie (Rose Everafter). It would be something great to watch and definetly unexpected for Castle, if she did something out-of-the-blue. Castle is still unpeeling the "Beckett Onion" and has gained her trust, and friendship. She know's that Castle has some sort of crush on her since the beginning, and they have a flirty, fun relationship right now and so I think she likes that she has that. And whenever something bad happens to her in a case or with her mother's case, Castle has shown her he's there and can be someone to lean on, and that she doesn't have to worry about being alone when things happen.

OfflineI agree. I think Castle is going to be somewhat reluctant to make a real move beyond taking her dress and offering her his arm like he did at the end of "The Third Man." I think when it happens it will be Beckett who at least brings it on, if not completely making the move herself.

OfflineI think at this point, it's going to have to be Beckett.
Right now Castle is too afraid of making the wrong move because he values her friendship above all else at this time.
Later on he may have to decide, as his feeling grow stronger if he wants to make the first move… if she doesn't first.

OfflineYeah I agree with that too, "The Third Man" at the end. Castle sort of tried already in season one when he first met her, but now it's different. So he seems like he will only go so far with his flirting, and his actions like taking her dress and offering his arm to go out. We all know that Castle likes her since the beginning, so it's more Beckett that we need to open up, which is what she does at the end of each episode so far since "Rose Everafter."
I hope they keep it up, I'm loving it!

I agree that it's going to have to be Beckett since she has always been the one resisting any advancement, although I think that both of them may be in denial that there is something strong there, and afraid of ruining their developing friendship and fun, flirty work relationship…Beckett because she may be worried about the affect on her career and about Castle's playboy ways and Castle because it's been a while since he's done "real".
Perhaps it will advance out of a dangerous situation they get into on the job (one of them gets hurt or is in danger or they are in danger together) or from some advancement/closure of her mom's murder case…

OfflineI agree. I think it should be Beckett. As you've said we've known about Castle's feelings from the beginning. However, I think his feelings have grown. At the beginning it was likely part of his playboy charade and he wasn't used to getting rejected so naturally he wanted what he couldn't have. Now I think the reason he is changing (if you've noticed we don't get nearly as many witty slash dirty innuendos as we used to get from him) is because his feelings are growing just as Beckett's are.
Having said this I still think Beckett should and or will make the first move. She's the one we're waiting for to open up and she's the one who is being extremely cautious with her heart.

All these sound good to me, I hope they both make a move for the other and just give in to it. Maybe it takes something major to happen to one of them, we saw that with #12 #13 and moving closer in #14. I'd like them to both see they are meant for each other and make it a mutual approach, maybe uncover operation and they are together in a situation where they are alone. I love the elevator situations they have so it would be fun if they were in the elevator and it broke down and they had to be together alone and talk and then it just happens they kiss. Corny I know but I love corny romance.
Like you all have said here it will most likely be Beckett who makes the first move, Castle is so freaked he will lose her if he acts like the wise cracking guy he has made himself appear to be.

OfflineAt this point, because of all the threats that KB has made towards Castle it needs to be her making the move. Or, in the very least, telling Castle (with words) that she's ready for something more so he can then make a move.
I thought the last scene of 'The Third Man' was very ballsy of Castle. hehe.

To Sarah it did take guts on Castle's part
:
To Caskett- I love the elevator scenes too some of the best moments I think or the most telling in many episodes. Fun! But they must be alone in that elevator no other observers. Come to think of it I have never seen them ride in the elevator with others have you?

@pamfromcalif….Hmmm now that you mention it, I don't think anyone else has ever been in the elevator with them. I think my favorite elevator scenes are when Castle has a bet going on with Ryan and Esposito on who will solve their case first, and they come running behind him and Beckett to come in the elevator, but Castle hits the button for the doors to close on them. Then Beckett is like, "Why'd you do that?" I think that's the closest they've ever been to having other's in the elevator with them…unless I'm forgetting something.

Offlinehad you asked me this question before the last couple of episodes i would've wholeheartedly disagreed that it should be kate that makes the first move. however, after seeing castle sort of put himself out there with the suggestion of going to dinner together, i agree with everyone that it should be kate that initiates anything. up until this episode i felt that castle has been the one making all the advancements, but kate never really knows when he's being serious. he's been insinuating them getting together since the beginning so nothing's really changed there. i felt like until castle made it abundantly clear that he was serious about what he was saying and not just shamelessly flirting that kate would never take him seriously. i honestly didn't think kate would accept his dinner invitation, and i was so pleasantly surprised that she did. progress, for sure.
