Do you think Castle will be a mid-season hit?

TV By the Numbers is running a poll to see what people think will be the big hits and flops of mid-season 2009.

It doesn't seem to be getting many votes which is irritating. I hardly watch tv at all because I can't stand most of the programs. It seems that when a show which seems moderately entertaining (to me at least) is aired, it always ends up being judged a flop. The big 'yesbut' for that is that these shows capture my (perhaps) miniscule segment and not any other show. If the show I want isn't on, I don't change channels, I turn the stupid box off or pull out a DVD to watch. Sigh.

I think it would be getting a lot more votes if it wasn't up against Dollhouse.  Both shows will draw in fans of Joss Whedon's work but you can only vote for one, and Dollhouse has been getting a LOT more exposure.

Spread the word to anyone you know – ask them to vote!

Don't forget we have banners on the promotion page that youc an use on web forums to help spread the word too – and any time you come across a blog about Castle, leave a comment letting people know about this website and hopefully we'll pick up more interest as we get closer to March.

[Image Can Not Be Found] I think it's going to be a big hit and that's just from watching the trailer. I like the chemistry between Nathan and the actresses that play his daughter and the detective. There are so many directions this show can go creatively. The actors in the cast are great at comedy but they also are very capable playing heavier, darker stuff.

ABC needs to start running the promo on TV during various time slots to draw in an audience and we as viewers need to tell our friends- hell tell random strangers- about quality programming when we see it.

I for one am getting very tired of all the "reality" TV show out there.  It's time we as viewers have more say in television programming and network executives need to reexamine their need for instant "gratification" or instant high ratings without actively supporting their own creations!

Castle seems like an intelligent show, with a strong cast, interesting story lines. It deserves a fair shot! I would watch it even if I wasn't a huge fan of Nathan Fillion! So I for one am only sending out positive vibes  for the SUCCESS of CASTLE and have already started telling friends to keep their eye out for it's debut in March![Image Can Not Be Found]

It's currently in third place, which isn't too bad. A distant third, but the top two shows have been promoted a lot more.

And it's second to last in the "biggest flop" category, so at least there's not a lot of negative energy surrounding it.

I'm good at predicting what I'll  like, but not so good at predicting what other people will like. So I have no idea how big the show will be. But I can't wait to find out.

Castle needs a lot of promotion because it will be up against Medium & CSI Miami.  Both of those shows are big hits already.

I wonder if Nathan will do the talk show thing again?  Can't wait to see him on The View!

Hi Newbie, welcome to the forum.

I agree, Castle needs some good promotion but I'm sure once we get closer to March that will start happening.  I think the show has a lot of potential and while it might be up against shows like CSI and Medium I think it's going to have a very different feel to those shows, they don't have a whole lot of humor, I think Castle will have quite a bit which might make it more appealing to the types of people who woudln't normally watch crime style shows.

And yes, I agree it'l lbe great to see Nathan do some more talk shows.
