I don't think it will have an impact on their relationship, though. I mean, he already knows that he's crazy about her and IMO he won't make any moves until he can share his secret with her.
Care to make it 'interesting'?
? I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean
That's what Rick said to R & E in The Double Down.
He-Touches-Things, I knew you were hinting at a wager, but didn't realize it was a quote from that episode. Nice one! I wonder if waldkind will take accept the challenge?
What kind of stakes could you have for betting on episode outcomes that would both be legal and easily done over a message board?

Offlineahhh, okay! thank you. and you're on! I'd be willing to wear a dress for a month but I am so not going to shave my head
I've seen the promos and the promo pics and I've read about one thing that will most likely happen but I won't read anything else and definitely not watch any sneaks. I've unfollowed from most of my castle sources on twitter, too, to avoid reading tweets like "OMG there is a tiger in 4x10", oh, thank you!

I'm hoping for several short dreams/daydreams (however that is handled)–going back and forth from reality to dream and back again. . . and it would be really fun if it's at the most inopportune times. Like if he's dreaming about the Kate character in noir and somehow gets carried away and then real Kate interrupts his reverie, and it takes him a moment to come back to reality. Fun, fun, fun!
That would be fun, but I also wouldn't mind one long dream. So that you stay "in the mood".

For me the interesting "unknowns" about this episode are:
[...]
2) Is anyone else besides Castle involved in "creating" the daydream/fantasy/story of the noir parts
I think it'll only be Castle. I'd have loved a situation where both Castle and Beckett dream about the case and they both have a different view but I guess that's because I've love Moonlighting's "The dream sequence always rings twice" and the X Files' "Bad Blood" so much. I wonder if it is a dream or a daydream or a story he makes up in his mind.
3) How does Beckett react to the way her and Castle are represented in the noir "daydream"
It depends on how she is represented. I've expected her to be some kind of femme fatale but in the promo pics she seems almost shy… Castle would never dream of her as a weak woman, though, so I think she will like the idea but laugh at him about it.
I wonder how Noir the Noir part will be. From what I've read the genre is not clearly defined but the characters tend to be dark and a tad more violent than usual. It will be interesting to see if it's only a flashback to the 40ies or if it really is a hommage to the genre. I'm not too keen of the genre I must say. But I'm a sissy.
I wonder who Alexis will be. The PI's daughter? I'm actually looking forward to seeing Molly Quinn playing another character (I'm not a big fan of Alexis).

I suspect Beckett's noir character is a lot more complicated than the brief images we have from the promo. It would not suprise me at all if she first seems shy but then is revealed to be a femme fatale.

I like Alexis, but yes I am looking forward to how characters like Alexis, Martha, and Captain Gates are depicted in the noir scenario.

I can get a bag of Gummi Bears…
I wouldn't be surprised if Rick narrates his 'story' to the team at the station, or at lease parts of it so they can share in his envisioning of it. He seems to enjoy sharing his stories as he is constructing them.

OfflineOK so I am SURE there are some sneak peeks out there today (I've been watching the 4x14 spoiler discussion grow) and I am, for the first time, trying to refrain, but it's soooo hard! Advice, anyone for an amatuer spoiler-avoider???

What I've been doing is rewatching the latest episode (Tuesday & Wednesday), concentrating on the post-episode threads (usually goes through Thursday), and watching previous episodes from 1.01 straight through as time permits (Friday to Sunday), and finally staying off the other pre-episode thread (after Tuesday). If I don't see sneak peek discussions, it is becoming easier to let them pass. One hour at a time becomes one day at a time, becomes a week, then it's Monday again!
It's been getting easier, and I don't try to stay 'pure', but I have been able to stay away from the real spoilery stuff, once the previous Monday's episode and the next week's preview is over.

naybaybay, I'm trying to avoid the sneak peeks this time, too, and you're right–it's really hard! I just keep telling myself it will be worth it because I want to be surprised.
H-T-T, I like your method. Anything that involved watching lots of episodes of Castle is a good thing.
However, I've got a lot of homework this week, so I will just focus on that–and work ahead if I need to.

OfflineI simply focus on other things… like that tiny little thesis that needs to be written or that little kid that wants to play… or my other shows… I watch US Castle on Tuesdays, Desperate Housewives on Wednesdays, Castle on Fridays and NCIS on Sundays. And I've rented a big pile of books from the library. The week flies by, really.
And it's really worth it. I was unspoiled for Kill Shot and Dial M for Mayor and really happy about it. I rather wait a week and enjoy 43 new and surprising minutes than knowing the best parts of the episode a few days before. I wish I hadn't known about the hand touching in the last ep but someone on twitter blurted it out.

I agree. As soon as the posts on the sneek peaks appeared I was out of there. I realized too much hype ruins it for me. I did not enjoy Cuffed because I really thought it would be about something completely different and I was really disappointed. So I just call that back to mind and it makes it fairly easy. I want to enjoy the upcoming episodes. I like to speculate but like HTT, I jumpt the pre-ep thread usually by Wednesday before the next episode.
Waldkind is right, you can have your best intentions but then you find some info online. That happened to me last season for the finale of Bones. Some very happy Canadian fan posted comments on the ending online. Sigh…anyway. We'll focus on work, books and other shows until Monday!

Oh yeah, there are definitely sneak peek clips out there… but I am quite confident that the episode will be better without seeing a couple of minutes here and there released just to tease and confound.
Actually, this is the first time I have been active on a board like this and was therefore actually aware of "spoilers" to this extent. After seeing one too many sneak peeks for 4x11 and 4x13, I am committed to avoiding them for the rest of the season. Honestly I think speculation in the "open" thread is pretty safe until just four or five days before the original air date. It seems like all the real video sneeks come out the end of the week before.
Don't forget about watching selected scenes from previous episodes on YouTube. Since I don't own the previous season DVDs I do not have ready access to previous episodes, but some of my alltime favorite moments have been preserved on YouTube by other avid fans.

OfflineOkay, now ABC has the first 10 (-ish) minutes of 04 x 14 posted online. EEEEEEEEEEEK! That is so not fair!
I was doing well resisting the little sneak peeks.
Castle is truly an addiction–really, can't I just have one, little, teeny, tiny puff of that Castle cigarette?!
I will be strong. I will be strong.
Gonna go watch Tick. Tick. and Boom!

I feel fortunate that I have all the episodes downloaded from iTunes, and have them on both my desktop and laptop computers. Anytime I need a 'fix', I can get it.
