Ugh, my quote button isn't working. :P

itsmyworld- See, I think we are getting the 'moments' each episode.  Naturally, there wouldn't be a 'you smell like cherries' scene every single week, but there are the little moments.  This week, Castle had a little moment when Beckett was talking to Alexis about the photo album at the end.  He really liked the way the two most important ladies in his life were interacting- the way Beckett was praising and encouraging her, it was almost motherly.  He just might have been imagining what it would be like if someday… well, you know. ;)

Sometimes the 'moments' are one-sided.  They don't always have to be between the two of them at the same time.  I'm really like the way things are progressing.

I really liked this episode I loved the Beckett and Alexis scenes I really loved it when Alexis was conserned about something happening to Castle and Castle telling her not to worry and then when Beckett was breaking up the arguement and she said "Number 2 is a limited time offer" and yay for the espresso machine ive missed it.

i love at the beginning, when they were telling captain montgomery about the whole wife-fiance situation this, and they did this matching head turn thing. Love

i also loved the short scene where castle was making coffee…beckett's expressions were awesome :D

and oh my God. i love the ending of this episode with the whole alexis&photo album thing :D there was this one point where castle looked at beckett..and the look he gave her was just…wow  :D Bounce

and ryan kept me laughing every now and then :D

I soo agree!

matching head turn – so cute! shows how in sync they are. And they are already finishing each other's sentences, like an old couple Smile

coffee scene – that will have to be replayed a couple of dozen times! Love

the interaction between Beckett and Alexis — we know that Beckett is compassionate with victims, but here she shows a different side: treating a 15-year-old with respect, taking her seriously, giving her support and praise where due. Big sister/mother/leader – shows me why she's the boss of Esposito and Ryan, she's a natural leader.

I love that they portray a tough as nails woman who at the same time is compassionate and does not freak out at the sight of children (naturally picking up and chatting with the kid in episode 1x09). The stereotype is that tough women are hopeless with children. Not so here.

All the characters, in fact, are allowed to have several sides to their personality.

I wish I knew how to quit you.

Speaking as someone who lives in the next town over from New Haven (where the murder victim and family lived), I thought it was funny that they kept mentioning about how far away it was from New York and how long of a drive it is. Even Castle complained about it. Lots of people commute into New York from New Haven, there's a Metro North train line that stops there as well…it's not a fun ride, but it's about an hour and a half drive from here (so says the person who's been back and forth to NY 3 times this week). I know that a long ride is subjective though.

I did kind of squeal though, when they went there, even though it was a fictional visit.

I agree on the "moments" thing.  In fact, in more than a couple of episodes, I feel like they are foreshadowing their couple-dom (is that a word?).  In this ep, when Castle says "see you later" to Alexis as she heads back to the store room  for another day, and he sees Beckett, it would have totally been natural if he just came up behind her, wrapped his arms around her, nuzzled her neck and murmured, "I woke up, you weren't there.  I hate that…"

Ah, nice scene!

Yeah, they are relaxed and in sync, and the personal "don't get closer than this"-space is not existing anymore… in the storage room, when Beckett hung up her phone, she didn't just say "Let's go", she almost no-arms-hugged him when saying so.

And the coffee making moment! Usually Beckett is all business or banter, but in this scene she just sits there, looking at him with a happy smile. Love

B: You wish. Alright, let's go off to Parker's office. [looking for something]

OK Castle, but it's accompany and observe, and not participate and annoy, got it?

My first post here: I often find I have to watch an episode multiple times to catch all the little comments. For example, the broom scene……about my 3rd replay, I realized Ryan's comment about not looking for it……geesh.  ROFL  AWESOME SHOW!!

Welcome! and yes! I need to watch several times too. I feel like a little kid asking for my favorite bedtime story over and over again…

Ryan's comment "I didn't" made no sense to me until I realized that Castle admitted he had been looking for the broom. Took me some time, that one.

Castle tweet after the episode:

Alexis made me very proud. Clearly us Castles have a gift for cop work. Why is Beckett snickering?

I wish I knew how to quit you.

I was just noticing during my last re-watch of this episode that there seems to be quite a bit of the battle of the sexes going on in this one.  I'm not sure if that was intentional, or if so what that's supposed to mean, but I thought there might be something to it.  Between Beckett baiting Castle and Ryan with the 'fragile ego' comment and the fiancee bragging about being able to fool the victim so easily (because men are so stupid), I think Rick was feeling like all masculinity was being picked on.  Then later, he really seems to relish telling the fiancee that she was, in fact, the one being played.

I dunno, did anyone else see this theme going through?

Well, now that you mention it, yeah! "Never underestimate the frailty of the male ego." "Men - think they're smart. The trick is to keep letting them think it."

I'm feeling that since the beginning it's been a sort of contest between Castle and Beckett. Not so much from Beckett's side, but Castle feel a need to prove himself. He's not just following Beckett to research his book, he wants to be helpful. This episode there was a moment when he came with one of his theories, and she said "That makes sense". Castle said "Thank you", and you can see he's both surprised and pleased. That was nice.

Actually that theme did stick out to me. I guess the theme of controlling women…

I found it cute and refreshing how Beckett wasn't insulted or offended by Castle saying she had witchy powers and actually played along with it turning it back on the guys.  ROFL

Yeah, you can hear the exasperation in his voice, he's probably fed up with Ryan talking with his girlfriend, on the phone, ALL the time.

Another good line was when Castle gave his cup of coffee to Ryan…

E: …He doesn't make me coffee.

just the right mix of teasing and jealousy

They're also a cute moment between castle/beckett which nobody talk at the beginning of the episode when beckett ask Castle if the victim would have married with its been engaged.

The line : two wife, too many

It's like as he said to her that she was the only one.

So cute moment !!!

Just noticed that by the time this episode 10 repeats (scheduled for Saturday Jan. 25th), ABC will have repeated all episodes 201 to 211 except 202, The Double Down. I wonder if they will repeat that one some upcoming Saturday or during Feb. opposite the Winter Olympics. Any inside info Admin? Undecided

I'm working here until a good fast food job opens up!

I love how they really juice the title of each episode for what it's worth, and how the stories weave in and out. The case paralleled with Alexis' own quest, and how this in turn gives us the opportunity for a little Alexis-Beckett bonding time…superb writing and plotting! Wish I could sit in on the writing sessions to pick up a lotta pointers, and then again in the line-reading sessions, for a lotta laughs Bounce

Was thinking about how well Alexis and Beckett work together and at first, I thought Alexis was a bit too emotional about being praised by Beckett. But when I got to thinking about it (after watching it for the nth time), it really adds another layer, this time to the Alexis onion. Assuming Meredith has always been that flighty as a mother, and assuming the publisher ex-wife was as shallow and conniving, and that Martha has only entered their lives recently (and hey, she isn't that much of a role model, but that's part of her charm), then from Alexis' standpoint, Beckett is the closest example to a stable, respectable, intelligent, hard-working, independent, and courageous woman that Alexis has ever been exposed to. Of course, this is assuming she has had little to no respect for Castle's girlfriends, dates, etc. (remember her disdain during "Inventing The Girl"). So yeah, now I get why Alexis was so touched by Beckett's praise, and I really appreciate that scene. Great acting, Molly Quinn! Hope this role takes you places! Fencing
