Otherwise they need to hire Joss Weedon or Jane Espenson (sp?)

Then the pretty brunette detective goes into an Irish bar and announces "this is the part where…" CORNY OVERUSED TRITE CHEAP dialog….be better off with more realistic Law & Order style writing….LAME….
But….I will try to get thru this episode and suspend disbelief…. This Kate is crying now and its raining….heavy sigh…

Actually I do think you're a little out of line and being way too harsh.  This is NOT Firefly and it's not trying to be.  It's a completely different show with a completely different feel and completely different characters.  It's not, nor is it trying to be, Law and Order either. The writing for Castle is fantastic and you know what, I bet Joss Whedon would even agree.

Also, for the record – Jose Molina is a big part of the writing team – recognise his name?  You should, he was the story editor for all of Firefly and he wrote Ariel & co wrote Trash.  He also worked on SVU.
